I wouldn't say atheists are misrepresented in - say - Western Europe. In some countries, like my own, it is not done to publicly state Christian beliefs guide your political ideology, regardless of the existance of a christian democratic party. It's secularism to the max.
Of course, publicly...
Canada would fare better with a good European-like health care system.
I met a couple of Canadians this summer & part of my family is Canadian - they are always surprised to see how severe the Canadian system is contrary to the (more social) European one.
I think the Gospel was not solely written in Arameic but also in Greek, according to some traditions...?
Also, Muhammad never wrote anything (so far as we know), the Quran was written down by Zaid ibn Thabit, his - ehm - secretary.
So in my country, SENSOA, a centre of expertise on sexual health, comes to schools to teach children about prevention, respect, &c. This, according to you, should not be made possible?
Do you think it is possible for a priest to continue being a priest while not believing in a literal, physical God?
According to some research (okay, I don't have sources, ...) it appears a substantial amount of clergymen are non/smallbelievers - some are even outright atheists.
Should they...
I didn't need sex education, I had girlfriends for that purpose...
Besides, the Jesuits gave us sex education - oh sorry! - a bit too late: at the age of 16. In our country, normally sex education starts at 12-13.
They had to explain to 16 year old girls what menstruation was like. By law...
And back again!
Turbulent months... Visited China and the DPRK. Got fired at the *¨sez+: Commission (well, not quite, they immediately asked me to step by their offices in a couple of months' time for budget reasons). Teaching French now.
Nice.
Still atheist though! Yikes!

Or French politics:
Reporter: "Embrasser, c'est tromper?"
Michel Rocard*: "Non, c'est pas tromper."
Reporter: "Et sucer, c'est tromper?"
Rocard: "(laughs) Non, pas non plus."
* Rocard was prime minister of France from 1989-1991 and an authority for French socialists. I'm not going to translate.
Turkey needs more European Union. However, the question is whether the European Union is allowed to need Turkey.
Furthermore, the Turkish army has always been a powerful ally of secularism. I can't really disapprove.
I disapprove of people praying for material goods except when "in need". I certainly disapprove of pedophilia. I don't see why the two are connected, however. And I'm not sure I like your insinuation...
"Those young slim girls you see in fashion shows are not meant to represent the "ideal beauty" from a male perspective but to represent "ideal beauty" from a woman's perspective."
It's a phrase that isn't general, of course, but there's truth in it. Commercials involving "ideal beauties" often...
Maybe it is because many people praying to own a new car already know that they will own one in the future (it is within their grasp) while missing children are by defintion outside their grasp.
You can save for a new car (a material good), you cannot do more but search for a missing child...
