You say that it is love that matters, and l agree. But are you aware that there is a difference between the love of God and the love of man? If the love of man is sufficient to save, then there would be no reason to have faith in Christ. Romans 10:20,21. 'But Esaias is very bold, and saith, l...

Joseph's genealogy becomes significant when he marries Mary, because their child takes on the legitimacy of a royal. I think you'll find that there are three groups of fourteen. The fourteen generations appear 'from Abraham to David'; from 'David until the carrying away into Babylon'; and 'from...

Jeremiah 31:31-34 is a prophecy directed at both lsrael and Judah. As is evident from history, there are many Gentiles accepting the Gospel, but Judah continues to follow after the law. The prophecy cannot find its fulfilment until both lsrael and Judah 'Know the LORD', having had their iniquity...

I think the key is to be found in the words of Gamaliel [Acts 5:33-40], who warned the religious establishment with these words: 'And now l say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye...

The role of an historian is to give an accurate account of events. This requires using more than one source. If Luke had relied on one source, he would have left important gaps in the account, but by gathering eyewitness accounts it was possible to corroborate the sayings and events. When one...

You don't t have to look beyond the Bible to see that the genealogies are sound. All the evidence exists in scripture. The point made by Josephus is that genealogies were kept in the public records in Jerusalem. Up until the destruction of Jerusalem, it was possible to check these records.

What makes you think they are not eyewitness accounts? All the internal evidence proves that they are eyewitness accounts!

The genealogies of Matthew and Luke are as sound as you can get. Luke provides the evidence to show that Jesus was born of a woman whose ancestors can be traced through David to Adam. On Joseph's side, you have a royal line from David, cut short by the curse on Jeconiah. Jeremiah 22:30.

Not true! The NT books are the testimony of the disciples of Jesus, and those who try to tell you otherwise are liars! There is an unbroken apostolic succession, which the book of Acts records. The dating of Acts must have been before 64 CE, making the Gospel of Luke a product of the 50's...

To say that we have no idea what Jesus said goes against the whole notion of testimony. In this case the twelve apostles, and many other disciples, gave their honest accounts of what they saw and heard. Luke goes so far as to use the expression, 'many infallible proofs' in relation to the...

Only Matthew's genealogy starts with Abraham. Mary's line starts with Adam. Both genealogies are necessary. What's particularly interesting is that these genealogies of Jesus were seen as genuine. Josephus, a contemporary, was able to find his in the public records, so l have no doubt that these...

Interesting. Jesus seemed to think that you could not get to the Father except through the Son. Jesus said, 'l am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' If you know the Father, then you must have seen the fulfilment of Jeremiah 31:33. Is that correct? As...

I think he is directly attacking Christianity, and he pulls no punches in doing so! Tovia Singer does not restrict his comments to passages from the Tanakh, but argues that the New Testament is an unreliable testimony. He attacks the teachings of Paul, in particular.

The Messiah is not mentioned by name in many passages of prophecy. But the whole of scripture points to him! Scripture is a parable of earth and heaven, and to limit one's understanding of scripture to the earthly story is to miss the meaning! Christ is everywhere in the scriptures, you just...

The promised seed goes all the way back to Eve, Genesis 3:15. The promise can then be followed through Abraham, and on to David, as the genealogies of Jesus demonstrate.

WHERE IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS GOD'S 4th COMMANDMENT IS ABOLISHED?

1 John 2:3-4 is not talking about the 613 commandments found in the Torah, but the two commandments that summarize the law: Love God, and love your neighbour. We can be sure of this because John goes on to say in 1 John 2:10, 'He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none...

I don't think the Messiah is irrelevant to the verse. The point about 'lsrael' is that lsrael as a people comes from Israel the individual. The seed is both singular, and plural. This is a shadow of the Messiah, the seed of promise.

Do you mean that lsrael is the firstborn by faith in Christ?

WHERE IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS GOD'S 4th COMMANDMENT IS ABOLISHED?

I am not suggesting that the moral law be broken, and Jesus did not break the moral law when he worked on the sabbath! [I notice you have failed to explain John 5:17] Maybe you can now explain to me how you hope to keep the sabbath commandment without making it a legalistic issue! I don't have...

WHERE IS THE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS GOD'S 4th COMMANDMENT IS ABOLISHED?

The sabbath that was created in Genesis was God's sabbath! It is not going to be enjoyed by mankind until the seventh millennium! You do err, not understanding the scriptures!
