  • it was said that this world is made of same material of dreams. when we wake up, dreams end. only when we wake up we realize it was just a dream. at that moment our experiences in that dream would become unreal. we wake up when we die, my dear Luminous. yet chance is given equally to wake up before death.
God does not play dice with the universe

Nothing surpasses the holiness of those who have learnt perfect acceptance of everything that is.

In the game of cards called life one plays the had one is dealt to the best of one's ability.

Those who insist on playing, not the hand they were given but the one they insist they should have been dealt
    -these are life's failures.

We are not asked if we will play. That is not an option. Play we must
    The option is how.
hmm....naughty, you are naughty. i hope this is the right word. once i wrote nasty instead of naughty. i felt bad later. but you are naughty like a cat, like a little smart kid, yea small kid.....i believe you! you're 12!

    Famous Albert Einstein Quotes

:D: "God does not play dice with the universe."

: "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence."

    :sad:: "Imagination encircles the world."
Yep; I don't know Spanish. I wish I did though, it's pretty awesome.

French isn't my cuppa; it's got things which are difficult for me; for example, nasals. It's not so much that I struggle with producing them, it's reading them that's the difficult bit.

I suppose in a way, I can understand a teeny tiny bit of Spanish due to Interlingua?

What would you like to learn first with Esperanto?
Haha you treat your profile messages as a livejournal or something XD

At least they make their mark^^
All hail the Flying Spaghetti Monster!
Obama (pasta be upon this unbeliever anyway) should have invited FSM's beloved deciple, Bobby Henderson (pasta be upon him), instead of Rick Warren.

"I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in our science classrooms across the country, and eventually the world; One third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence."”

no I just visited my family this holiday weekend :D
    They only have dial-up ~_~
so I've been kinda limited in my internet capabilities
My friend, you are not alone in that, at all!! I've wanted to make English more phonetic, as well.

However, making English phonetic, is damn-near impossible. The reason is that we have waaaaay too many words from foreign languages, too many accents (ever heard someone from Somerset or somewhere ?:D), etc, in English. English prior to the Battle of Hastings WAS phonetic, and it's so funny that the English were once praised because of their phonetic language. :D

To make English more phonetic, we'd need to undo the great-vowel shift; it we read through hymns, we can often see things that do not rhyme in modern English, for example, "Lord" and "word" - don't rhyme in modern English, but at one time I guess they did in Middle English. Once, "make" was pronounced as "mah-kuh", instead of "meyk", "knight", was pronounced as "k-nischt", etc. The large number of French loanwords, as well... and some words were made to show false-etymologies. For example, "debt", used to be spelled as "dette", but the English started adding a b in because of Latin "debitum", and isle used to be pronounced as "ile" (I think that's the spelling).

    Anyway! :D

Perfect grammar? That'd be tricky! If you simplify it too much, it's freaky-deaky, but I suppose to those who grow up with it, it isn't. It's because it's a change from what we are used to.

How many languages do I know? Hm.. that's a toughie. I suppose I only know English perfectly, but I'm more-or-less fluent in British Sign Language, I understand a tiny bit of American Sign Language...

I know some Japanese, Interlingua (which is basically, a mix of all the major Romance languages :D), Swedish, Esperanto, but I know (or knew!) a tiny bit of various languages, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Welsh.. (though I haven't used them for a long time!) - these normally included things like "Hi! How are you?" and things like that
I'm awful at "studying" languages, I "use" them or nothing. If I don't have people to practice with, I don't tend to learn them. - I've not used anything but English, British Sign, Esperanto and Interlingua recently, though - since before my hearing loss set in, so that's... almost 2 years? I don't think I really should say I can speak any of those - someone might test me! :D

I have a short attention span, though, which is I'm not fluent in any. Coupled with a certain degree of deafness, languages are not as easy as they once were. :D
It's the best of the constructed languages as it is, by far, the most widely spoken of the lot of them - though it only has about 2 million speakers, probably 20 million people can a bit of understand it though.

As a world language, it has failed, and is not really usable because it's unfair against, for example, Japanese and Chinese uses, and even poses some difficulties for English speakers. It's got some complexities which make it quite difficult - one of them is the accusative (la akuzativo), which is an "n". For example, la hundo mordas la knabon - the dog bites the BOY (the boy being the object) - it can be pretty difficult to use correctly, for example, "kion vi faras?" - what are you doing?, uses the accusative, but I'm still not actually sure why. I think that Russian has an accusative, but I'm not sure about whether or not Polish does (Zamenhof, the creator, was from Poland, but it was then part of Russia). Other difficulties are the fact that adjectives must agree in number with the nouns; so "youngs birds", basically. :D

If one were to compare it to a "natural" language, it is one of the easiest, I guess. It's completely phonetic and there are no irregular verbs, which makes it easy to learn. Everything uses a sort of "root", I guess. I personally find it ugly as some of the words are well, crappy. For example, malsanulejo - not-healthy-person-place - hospital - so if you learn the roots, it's easy enough to pick up, and it can help one pick up a second language.

I suppose it has been quite useful; I have a few friends from Brazil whom I speak to with it. Yet, at the same time, I suppose I'm more partial to Interlingua, even though I struggle with that more than I do Esperanto.

So in all honesty, it's down to you - do you want one as an easy transition to helping you learn more about languages before you learn another, or to be able to talk to a few people from around the world who don't speak your language?

I suppose you should give it a try, if you don't like it, you could just stop learning it?
