  • Awesome! I look forward to hearing. :D I've been enjoying going to the Episcopalian church. Very easygoing, very friendly. I fit right in there, which surprised me, since I never really fit in at gurdwārā or mandir.

It's a little bit theologically dry for me since I have exposure to Dharmic religions, but I've been using Armstrong and Spong to feel more comfortable with it. It's working. :D
Yeah, I was the same. My wife just said one day. "You're bugging me. Get dressed nicely, we're going to church."

Was good to be there. I've been going to an Anglican one for a while, so I do think Episcopalian may be worth looking at. Buddhist groups can be meh, unfortunately, some not really accepting of theism. :/
Keeping meditation sounds like a good idea. :)

Have you considered going to a liberal Abrahamic/Dharmic/whatever place of worship, or UU, while you try to find out? That way, you'll have some kind of community -- something I avoided for a long time. I've recently started visiting church (though I don't care much for the traditional theology (a bit dry and bland for me), I think I could, at a push, go Spongian if need be) and I feel a lot happier since I'm with other people.
Have you considered reading anything by Spong, or looking at a LGBTQ friendly group? Considering yourself as a Christian Unitarian or something? Or UU principles within an Abrahamic context?

What are the weird ideas you mention? The disliking of other sexualities?
You should go for it. You may find it's like me: I enjoyed it early on, but I got a bit fed up of his text later on since it felt like he was repeating himself. Armstrong, though, is an amazing author. I think combining them, though, one can get a modern, but still beautiful with some tradition, theology and philosophy. Going back to the old isn't always a bad thing.
Why Christianity Must Change Or Die, probably.
He's a good author. Repeats himself a little though. Not really entirely for me, but he does have some good points.
Another good author is Karen Armstrong. :)
Yeah, that's what I thought as well.
Have you read anything from Bishop Spong?
