  • Haha, I wouldn't consider myself full-blown anything. As far as Kabbalah, it simply filled the biggest gap of knowledge I was missing; my understanding of The Divine.
There is no contradiction with Kabalistic based Judaism and my Thelemic beliefs.
FYI, in terms of resources online, I recommend joining the Spertus Institute: you can get a membership to their website and online library for around thirty or forty bucks a year, and it's unbelievably worth it. If your Hebrew/Aramaic is decent, they have access to the Bar Ilan database, which has all the Tanakh, Rabbinic Literature, commentary, responsa, and suchlike that you could wish for; if not, they also have access to the Soncino translations of Talmud, Midrash, etc., which if not great are at least somewhat helpful.
Well, you can, you just probably can't find it in English. There are discussions all over the Talmud about elements of Jewish identity: is identity connected to sin, to heresy or orthodoxy, to ritual purity or impurity, to behavior and comportment, to marital status, and of course to status of parents. If the last is what you're chiefly interested in, I think the major reference is in Masechet Kiddushin, somewhere in the sixties, as I recall.
