pg 117 talks about heavenly planets... it might sound strange to some, but we believe God dwells on a planet circling a star named Kolob - not a bug-eyed-monster or anything that most make ET's out to be - but a real being living in a real place...

I'm sure I'm reading too much into it, and putting more of an LDS slant onto it than is really there due to personal beliefs, but I am enjoying it! Thanks!
    continued... :D
2:11-12 (pg 88) the eternal nature of the soul ..
12: Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.
    we have similar scripture:
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 93:29) Man was also in the abeginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be...

we believe our spirit is eternal and existed before we were born, and will continue to exist after we die, that our body is just temporary clothing for our spirit.

pg 96 - describing the nature of the spirit is interesting, the comments in my version talk about the spirit being made up of fine particles
we also describe the spirit as a fine/pure/indestructable substance which can only be discerned by pure eyes. (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 131:7)
I'm enjoying the Bhagavad-Gita, although I should prob be reading this with a teacher. I'm not sure how much you know about Mormon beliefs, but there is a lot of stuff that at least seems very similar in here. I've only skimmed up to pg 130, just curious,

    family -
what are your beliefs reguarding perhaps the sacred nature of the family? texts 39-43 talk a bit about the importance of family/chastity etc. etc. ... for Mormons, family relashonships are huge - we believe marriage is an eternal institution.

    Degrees of glory -
    Chapter 2 text 2
Pg 75: 3 degrees of glory, or tree phases of understanding – compared to entering into the sun. First phase – feel the warmth of the sun. Second phase, ascend to the surface of the sun. Third phase, enter into the center of the sun.
    - we also believe in 3 degrees of glory - the brightness of the sun, the moon, and the stars -
Celestial Glory; Glory; Telestial Glory; Terrestrial Glory
