  • I'm very interested in Yriya. I consider it to be the best yoga path. I really wish there was a centre around here and a proper teacher to help me.
Hey, I decided that I am going to take a break from these forums for a while. I need to think about some things and see where everything is going.
I am not sure how I got those memories. For all I know, I have had them for quite a long time. They just seemed to have come from some space in my mind. I really cherish them though. Another thing that I found odd is that I have very very early memories. I have a memory when I was accidentally locked in my moms van when I was less then one years old. I also rememer playing with my dad and grandma when I was less then three, probably ages 1 to 2. So I dont doubt that I have memories of a past life with remembering such early things. How could I have a vedic astrologer tell me about my past life? I hope I was spiritual in my past life because I have always been spiritual in this life and it must have been past over from a past one. I can remember at early ages that I would frequently think about spiritual things and try to find a way to worship some God.
How do you know that you practiced Kriya in a past life? How do you tell what you were. I have memories of being in the Himalayas with Tibetan Yogis, is that from a past life? I remember climbing a mountain with a tibetan yogi and one memory is when I was young and I was with another young tibetan. Maybe I was in the Himalaya's in a past life and knew Tibetans?
I got a few more books today. I am currently reading "Autobiography of a Yogi" and I must say it is a fantastic book. I woke up early this morning and starting reading some of it and read some last night, its a great book! Yogananda had such a beautiful and spiritualy energized life!
You are the only Kriya Yogi I am in contact with, I will have to go to one of the Ananda Meditation Groups here in Indiana and be around them. I do agree, environment can really affect one on the spiritual path.
Thank you Kriya Yogi for explaining all of that to me, you have been a great help to me lately.
Does God test people who want Him? I have been searching for God for about 3 years now and I am just finding out about Kriya and how God really is. Do you think that God was testing me to see if I would stay persistant in my search for Him? I have searched in all major religions, literaly all major religions I have tried, and I did find God in any sectarian faith. But I still searched and still am, I see that Kriya Yoga is very non-sectarian. Babaji is in union with Christ, Krishna and Christ both taught the same things, and Yogananda has shown us this. I love the non-sectarian view of Kriya Yoga, it truly is the Eternal Religion which holds all of the Timeless Truths. So is God now showing me the Path sense I have kept on searching for Him, have I passed His test and am now able to practice His Kriya Yoga path?
I have a question, does Kriya Yoga work directly with Chakras and Energy, or just breath, or all that I mentioned?
Cool, thanks for explaining that to me. When I first started talking to you about Kriya Yoga I thought it was going to be like many of the other religions, but I am finding that it is something much more vast and deeper. Thank you.
Sense you are a Kriya Yogi, does that make you a follower of Sanatan-Dharma? In one of Kriyananda's books I saw that he wrote that Sanatana-Dharma is comprised of timeless truths rooted in eternity and cannot be limited to any earthy religion. Is that how you see it?
Ok, thanks for all of your help so far! I will have to think about it, but Ananda does sound good too and they are obviously closer to me.
If I go to Ananda will I still be a diciple of Yogananda, or will I be the diciple of Kriyananda? Do they follow the same thing that SRF does in which Yogananda will be my Guru? Who were you initiated by?
Well you could travel there but you would have to call them to make sure you go at a time they are doing a Kriya initiation. I looked it up and found out there are some Ananda Communities in Indiana and in Cincinatti Ohio. Not sure where in Indiana you live, but there is one in Evansville, and Brazil, Indiana. I would call the main Ananda site to get there numbers there and find out the exact address. I would say go to SRF but that is far and it might be better if you could possibly be initiate in Indiana where you live. Contact the number on here and they should tell you if you can be initiated in Indiana. Contact Us
How long do I have to wait to get initiation? If I were to save up some money and go the the Self-Realization Fellowship "headquarters" in California could I become initiated?
I just got back from 3 different books stores and got 9 more books by Yogananda. I got "essence of the Bhagavad Gita", "Yoga of Jesus Christ", "Yoga of the Bhagavad Gita", and a few others. I am really getting into all of this!
I looked into the Self-Realization fellowship and I think I would choose to be initiated there. If you are initiated you are Yogananda's diciple right? I saw on the Self-Realization Fellowships website that Yogananda said that he was the last Guru. Does this mean if I become initiated that Yogananda is my Guru?

And thank you for having conversations with me, Kriya Yoga is something that I am really beginning to love in such a short amount of time. Its much more than I could have ever wanted!
Last night I started to browse threw Mans Eternal Quest, and there is some great stuff in there. The first page I opened to was how to live. Yogananda said that we should drink and eat many dairy products and orange juice with nuts crumbled in it. He also said to stay away from beef and pork and to exercise everyday.

I am going to start doing all of this. I can tell that it really leads to a healthy life!
