  • I changed the name because I am not Gaudiya Vaishnava anymore. I bought "Mans eternal quest", "journey to Self-Realization", "Metaphysical Meditations", "Where there is light", and "Spiritual Diary". When I was at the book store I picked up "Spiritual Diary" and opened up the book and the first thing I read was that in even the most wicked and vicious men there is light deep down and that God will forgive ALL sin. This made me feel so good that Yogananda taught this way, it really gives you hope that you can find God no matter what you have done!

So can I set up a small shrine? I was thinking of having Babaji, Christ, and Yogananda. Or do I have to be initiated to have a shrine? Thanks for all of your help too, I am really beginning to feel that not only am I seeking God, but that God is seeking me too. It feels good.
Hey just so you know I changed my name from Gopal Dasa to Arav. And I thought I would tell you that I bought like 5 books by Yogananda. Cant wait to start reading them!
Thank you very much for the explenation Kriya Yogi! I will go to that website right now.
    Hello Kriya Yogi,

I would like to know if you could tell me a bit about Kriya Yoga? I know alittle about it from various sources, but could you give me an overview? I am a Bhakta-Yogi, so as you probably know, I follow the path of Devotion and the center of that Devotion is Sri Sri Radha Krsna.

    Hare Krsna
Good question Kriya. Until very recently, the more frubals people had the more they could give to others to one time. So some people could give, for example, 10,000 frubals in one hit. This is known s your reputation power. However, some members were abusing the system and giving heaps of frubals to their friends who would give them back and so these members had an enormous amount of frubals. The staff have changed everyone's reputation power for the time and being to 1 point and eventually I believe the system will change. Right now, frubals are really being used as kudos rather than a competition.
I completely agree about Kriya being the best. My dad has been meditating for many, many years and has trained in different techniques. He finds Kriya to be the most beneficial. I'm very happy that you have found this path. It is so rare to discover a means of connecting with God. Meditation is the key :)
I've read the Autobiography! And we have the audio-book version for the car. I've also read parts of Divine Romance. Hmm, I think dad has Kriyananda's: The New Path.
I am very interested in becoming a Kriya Yogi, with the correct guidance when I feel ready to commit myself. I am already initiated by a guru, so any other initiations will be secondary, like Siksha.
I agree with you that Yogananda is a rare, enlightened personality. It is so special that he was on our planet so recently!
I aspire to be a Kriya Yogi! But my laziness generally prevents me from progressing with meditation. I am a little bit of a lost seeker, I take wisdom from many teachers. But I think of myself as a Vaishnava, devotee of Krishna.
My father has a book by Swami Kriyananda actually. I have not read that one yet.
Thank you for the welcome Madhuri!

So are you or your father Kriya Yogi's as well? I subscribed to SRF as well, but go to Ananda which was founded by a direct disciple of Yogananda's. His name is Swami Kriyananda. Lake Shrine is beautiful. The waters and place down there is blessed with Yogananda's presence. Yes he was one the greatest saints I've heard of. I'm honored and humbled to be his disciple and to have met and been initiated by some of his direct disciples.
    Hi and welcome to RF!
It's great to have a Kriya Yogi here. My dad subscribes to the Self Realisation Fellowship. I visited the Lake Shrine a couple of years ago on my trip to LA. It was so beautiful!
I love Yoganada's books. He was very enlightened :)
