I always looks to see who's "Performing Moderator Duties" so I can know how guilty I should feel because I'm not.

I like to see who's engaged in conversation and try working out who they're talking to.

I understand that temptation. In the old software admins could see who was talking to who (whom?), which I always thought was a bit too Big Brotherish.

All of a sudden everybody switched over to Xenforo and I still don't get it.

Possibly because xenforo can be formatted to be more like a forum-social media site, instead of a traditional forum.

That's actually one of the things I dislike about it. Xenforo has an almost clinical feel to it, compared to the shabby-but-cozy atmosphere Vb had.
