I'm very interested in peoples' different ideas on the world and what lies beyond it, so I searched for religious forums; I found this place and a few others. Most seemed to be dominated by conservative, or occasionally fundamentalist, forms of Christianity debating internally though. I was looking more for a place where different faiths could compare ideas respectfully, this seemed like the closest to it.

So, that element of it's what I like most, although you do sometimes have to sort through nonsense threads to find the gems. The price of open discussion, I suppose.

"Closest to it" sounds about right; there is some nonsense indeed. But overall, I love the open discussion here as well, which does come at a price, as you mentioned.
