No worries Christine, and any time you want to come back to Blighty, I'll be there at the airport with a big "Woo hoo, RF forever!" banner. ;)

Ha, ha, was back a couple of weeks ago. Visiting relatives and friends. Went from 35c to 18c in an hour and a half and it rained, a lot

I knew you would! Of course the old heart strings keep pulling you back, I think you made a good decision migrating to France. You don't even need to step on a plane to get here! Trains are so much more civilised and commuter friendly ;)!

'Tiz a,long drag from sw france to nw uk, done it by car once via the tunnel and twice by ferry. Much easier to take a plain from Bergerac to Liverpool and hire a car. Train??? Bit difficult, have to go south to get a train north, change across Paris, change again in London to get a bone shaker to Preston. Actually quicker to drive.

Ah, interesting, forgot about the ferry option. It would be my first choice I think, I love the sea! Hire a car in the UK? Unless it is a Fiesta it tends to be "ouchville" to the wallet, but horses for courses I suppose. I use the Northern Line "bone shakers" to visit my old mum in Barnsley on a regular basis btw, how dare you denigrate them! Sockets for my laptop? One day...oh yes, 20th century here we come baby!
