I'm getting to enjoy it more than topix, yes there are some real oddities here, but none like dollarsbill, nanoanomaly, butt crack (oops, buck crick) etc.
Take a look at 44.73, 1.2 lots of forest around us. The fig is staying in a pot ans will be pruned mercilessly if need be. Really looking forward to the fruit, i love goats cheese and warm fig salad.

What a waste. Here farming is part of the community, most only sell locally, they'll be up at 4 harvesting veg, setting up at market by 8, chatting the morning away with customer's, friends and other stall holders. Sold out by noon, then a leisurely (4 hour) lunch and bottle(s) of wine. Home, bed and up next morning for the same again.

That's the way to farm, stuff this mega mechanisation.

It is a waste. This and many American communities are built to waste in as many ways as possible to milk the taxpayer and we're going down soon for it. I figured ag/farming was pretty well integrated into everyday life there. That workday you describe sounds a bit like paradise to me.

Every town or village has at least one market a week with producers selling their goodies. Also many have summer night markets. Stalls of local, fresh prepared food ready to eat at tables provided with a band and dancing, great fun. Its a completely different way/speed of life than we were used to in the UK.
    Thanks for the frubels.

Thought you may want to know (2 things)

1 growing a fig tree in a pot on the veranda at the back of the house. Methinks it was a mistake, had it about four months, its grown from a couple of feet to 6 feet in that time, the roof is only 8 feet high. Interesting problems ahead.

Ooooh, that fig tree is gonna GROW in France!
    (Laffin!)
France, i expect, has NO shortage of soil microbes.

I mention the soil microbes because i'll bet you have to plant that fig tree in the ground. If your area in France is as green as some of what i've seen from Google Earth, that tree's gonna be a monster in a few years. All those figs in summer will draw whatever wild life and pests that are about, i expect.
2 we entered the village annual garden competition, not having a garden as such we entered the balcony group. The idea is those gardens or balconies that do most to enhancer the village and attract the attention of tourists gets the prize.

Only using untreated water from our well, and the plant's are loving it.

P.s. i miss out little topix gardening chats.

Not often (Not at all) i would get an opportunity to share my knowledge of green algae and horticulture during such an event, but THEY asked how i did it and said i had the best flowers they had seen anywhere. That blew my fragile little mind... Wow.

Have you ever thought of writing a book?

Btw, never won place in the best balcony competition (there are some fantastic displays about) but did get consolation of a rather nice bottle of wine.
Thanks for the host of frubels on A Universe from Nothing?

I had a feeling of such. I've been checking a few times a day for about thee days now. I've been somewhat busier now that everyone in America is being robbed of time at an ever increasing rate. I guess someone is making more money that way now that we've been sold to the banks. Trump doesn't have to do another thing as president or even stay at the Whitehouse anymore.

I have an old friend staying with us. Seems the UK is pretty much the same. May has employed ex terrorists and creationists to prop up her failing government at a cost to taxpayers of 1.5 billion pounds.

    Glad I'm out

My GAWD. i know it's all going down to crime and terrorism in a lot of the world. We're still at the fat n happy delusional stage in which none of that is happening and we need to go to the store for some refined white lard for milkshakes.
he can sure restrict access by users from foreign countries to American based forums and blogs. Several of us now on this forum are here because of this. (i'm here because they are my friends)

Nice to see you here, and thanks for the "friendly" emoji.

Has it ever been determined what happened on Topix? My case fits your description: I live outside the US, and one day, I was shadow blocked for no apparent reason.

Yep, it happened on Jan. 21 2017. I just wonder how many other blogs and forums followed suit the day after Trump's inauguration. It happened on Topix for ALL foreign posters on the very same day.
Thanks for the heart on The Big Bang and Evolution.
