(Psalm 15:1-5) . . .O Jehovah, who will be a guest in your tent? Who will reside in your holy mountain? 2 He who is walking faultlessly and practicing righteousness And speaking the truth in his heart. 3 He has not slandered with his tongue. To his companion he has done nothing bad, And no reproach has he taken up against his intimate acquaintance. 4 In his eyes anyone contemptible is certainly rejected, But those fearing Jehovah he honors. He has sworn to what is bad [for himself], and yet he does not alter. 5 His money he has not given out on interest, And a bribe against the innocent one he has not taken. He that is doing these things will never be made to totter.

So, from this we see the Bible doesn’t mean the literal planet will be “destroyed by fire.”

Nobody would want to inherit a burned-out cinder.

“The upright.” -Proverbs 2:21,22

When this promise is fulfilled, then, even the animals will be at peace with each other, and man.
Isaiah 11:6-9

“Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven.”

So, apparently, since Jesus taught his followers to pray for this to happen, it’s safe to conclude that God’s will (purpose) for the Earth IS NOT being done today.

Revelation 21:3,4 is really describing the fulfillment of that part of the prayer…

Where vs.3 says “…. a loud voice from the throne…”, it’s referencing God’s “Kingdom” of Matthew 6:9,10.

So the question is, “when will it come?”

Or maybe a better question is, “What’s keeping it from coming?

Simply put, it’s the issue of sovereignty raised in Eden, in Genesis 3:1-6.
If mankind can rule themselves.

God is letting the issue be resolved, without Him intervening.

How does it seem to be working out?

Technological advancements have made life easier for certain ones who can afford it, but … even the percentage who afford it… are they happier? What about the larger percentage who don’t have today’s conveniences?

How’s family life in general, compared to, say, a hundred years ago?

From my perspective, this experiment of allowing men to rule themselves, with every imaginable form of government having been tried… and now, with Earth’s environment facing threats, due to misguided use of technology… is about over.

God’s Kingdom will “come” soon, imo.
