Do most of us manipulate others? Is manipulation necessary? In what ways do we manipulate? How do you feel manipulated?

I feel like we all manipulate. Constantly. The malevolence of manipulation is a measure of it's value. And we set that value within each of us. We manipulate children, co-workers, the driver on the highway in front of us, ourselves...the list goes on.

Yes, we do. Persuasion is, at its heart, manipulation. It's an essential skill for life. It's just how we use it that's the question.

Please and thank you are manipulation as they are ways to influence others to responding favorably to us and what we want- be it good will, fast service, or a hot date. Its like a friend of mine is fond of saying, 'Everyone kisses ^&*, its who's &*( you're kissing that matters.'
