Uhh, no. That's not how it works.
She means that Man created the Concept of God and Religion. It doesn't mean man literally 'created' God.
And when she was talking about God controlling us, she probably meant God controlling our actions and our feelings.

Probably because this is an interfaith forum, and not a Christian one. And, Christians don't usually do "interfaith" (it's probably similar to vampires and garlic), so I'm not surprised this isn't a "Christian" forum.
If one wants to post on a Christian forum, there are a large number of other places to go.

If the Bible was the word of God and not the opinions of the writers I would take it up directly with him and suggest a good psychiatrist as clearly the God of the Bible has many mental health problems if what is written about him is true!

Helen, you neglected to explain to us exactly how this poor man was in error. How can you expect anyone to correct and explain his error if we don't know what it is?
I'm also a bit confused about your reference to the truth of the spoken word of the Holy Scripture. Usually when I hear Holy Scripture I think Holy Bible, but when you preface it with "spoken word" it begins to sound more like the Holy Quran, which originated as a recitation rather than a scripture.
