Hi All

Last Sunday an 10 year old girl asked me the follow question at my church were I lead 10 to 12 year olds in morning bible study! So I ask you all for your help to give me idea's on how to answer her this week!

The quickest way to God is to look for Her with an open heart and open mind, and you can't help but see God everywhere. :)

Easy - pray and confess, then get yourself killed doing something good. That way, you can avoid a whole life of suppressing natural urges, and go straight to the eternal bliss!

Although perhaps Maize's suggestion is a little more appropriate. :wink:

Master Hoomer, while there is a lot of validity to your statement, I don't believe it will be of much help to 10 to 12 year olds... which is the point of this forum; to try to get an answer to help JTB (Sonia?)

We are always "with God". We just don't always sense it. It takes dedication, faith, and effort to consciously recognize the divine, but it is possible. As Maize said, the first steps are to open your mind and your heart. You must learn to love everything and everyone, for then you will see that everything around you is divine, and you will begin to sense and connect with God.

children can be a lot more perceptive than you think sometimes though

but yes..maybe the concept thjat everything is nothing is too much fora child

Absolute truth is that the quickest way to Father God is through the Heart of Jesus. How to teach a child that is to teach of the Love of Father God for us and how He bacame Jesus the Man so that He could show us how much He loves us. " Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for such is the kingdom of Heaven". We can all learn from that one verse. War would stop and hunger would go away and love would be international.

The quickest way to God is to unite your heart with the Heart of Mary as her Heart is united to the Divine Heart.

What is the true essence of the question? Is she asking how do I get to god the quickest. Because the first will be last and the last will be first. Or is she asking what is the quickest way to find God eternally? The answer to that is read the bible and learn what God ask of you.

See heres the thing... I have discovered that you find God all the time. In different situations, it takes different amounts of time. Getting to God isn't a one time thing. Theres differnt levels, different ways to know god. some ways are fast for one person but slow for another. its all a personal journey that no one can tell you how to do.

What men found God the quickest? Abraham was a very powerful man of God, what did he do? He had great desires that were very righteous. He treated his fellow man as he would himself, and he loved God so much that he could not bear to hurt Him with sin. That seems to be the pattern. Love God with all thy heart, and love the neighboor as thyself. How do you get there? You have to want it more than anything else. Our desires to know God help us down the path that consists of two simple commandments. He that has these things ingrained in his heart will not have to worry about the whole law, his heart is circumcised and his will will be of God.
