Did he?

That is what the bible teaches, that he was crucified with two criminals. I certainly did not witness this with my own eyes, as it was about 2,000 years ago or so.

Yes,
And Pilate wrote a title, and put [it] on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. John 19:19

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb. 12:2

Did Jesus
Really Die on a Cross?

Three questions arise...

1) What does the Bible account of His (Jesus') alleged crucifixion? Did Jesus actually "die'"?

2) What do extra-Biblical accounts support/detail regarding Jesus' alleged crucifixion/death?

3) Is "confirmation bias" an especially compelling form of argument in testimonial of any alleged "historical fact"?

Just wondering...

Or was it "This is Jesus the King of the Jews." Matt 27:37, "The King of the Jews." Mark 15:26, or even "This is the King of the Jews." Luke 23:38?

So confusing.

There is no proof even for his existence. No contemporary witnesses. I don't believe in a person who walked on water, revived decomposing dead people etc. IMO there might very well have been people named Jesus that were crucified, but none of them was the person whose actions and sayings are written in the Gospels.

It must work out in some transcendent way that our earthly, carnal minds cannot understand. ;)

I'm trying to figure out why it's such a big deal whether it was a cross or a tree or a torture stake. Don't all Christians believe He died so that we might be forgiven for our sins? Why in the world is such a minor detail of any consequence to anyone?

A stake with a cross bar to elevate IS a cross. To be more efficient curcifixion requires the arms to be extended to hasten death. he Romans were all about efficiency, especially in crucifixion: refer to the mass executions following the Slave Rebellion led by the gladiator Spartacus. Trees were used, and crosses were erected whenever the trees were to few or too far away from the road for travellers to see.

Heck, he's already died and risen, and it fully paid the debt. why would he want to do that again........... ;) death has no hold on him!

What's the old Lenny Bruce joke, if Jesus had died in an electric chair, children in Catholic schools would be wearing little electric chairs around their necks instead of crosses.
