Could you clarify this? I also believe the Bible makes it clear that Christ is The Word, and that the Bible was written by men inspired by God, but how is this different from the Bible being the word of God? Are you just taking the question more literally than I am?

I can't vote either, due to the capitalisation. I could talk of the Bible as the word of God, as it is God inspired, but the Word of God was Incarnate as a man, and is not a text, so I abstain.

No. The bible is a collection of the writings of men in a specific culture, about God as they perceived him.

I voted yes. To clarify, I believe the Bible contains the portion of the Word of God needed for mankind.

While inspired of God, the Bible is a book by humans, in the language of humans that describes humanity's evolving relationship to God and how they wrestled with the big questions. It is not inerrant, and is not a manifesto of science.

Yes, I believe the Bible is the Word of God. That is, Word in the ordinary sense. Not the Logos, which is Jesus Christ.

Perhaps God speaks in the Bible but there are in the Bible texts that aren't Word of God, for example:

I believe the bible is the Word of God (capitals and all!). However, I am not a fundamentalist. I take the scriptures to be something like a five-act play. Four acts are complete, but the fifth act is not. We only have snippets of the end of the final act. Our job, as actors, is to creatively fill in that gap. Of course, we have the Author to assist us in this.

I like this picture because it leaves room for creativity. And it makes sense of the bible as a narrative. Parts of that narrative, although important to the overall story, are no longer relevant to this part of the narrative. Thus I don't have to obey the Mosaic Law, for instance; that was an earlier act. That act was important, crucially so, but to act out the missing part of the play, my job is not simply to repeat previous acts.

This picture also gives an interesting and useful sense of how the bible -- a series of stories -- can be authoritative. To fill in the missing part of the play, I can't simply do whatever I want. Given what we know about the ending and the first four acts, there is such a thing as an appropriate gap-filling. Or at least there are a range of possibilities for filling in that gap that are more or less appropriate (perhaps there's no one final way it must be done).

In any case, this view preserves authority (God-given, God-authored, God-breathed) and humanity (human-expressed, human-acted, human-interpreted).

The question is asked AS IF there is a real something called a Bible. There is no singular thing, there is no original. The question is meaningless ... especially the second part of the question ... if it is not translated correctly (and all we have is translations of translations) how could it be "The Word of God?" On the other hand, I believe that much of the many translations are in part inspired ...

Let's say, the Bible is a mix of Deity's revelations to humans and humans attempt to make their tribal beliefs seem unquestionable.

There is much in the Bible that I do believe.

Un like the New testament, much of the Old testament is either law or History relating to another religion. and is not really a question of Belief, though it might well be accurate. The prophets on the other hand, still give us strong messages of faith.

The new Testament is a mixture of recollections on the life of Jesus, and his teachings.
It also contains a large number of letters written by Paul and his Own interpretations of Christianity.

Then it has books like Revelation, which is entirely mystical and very odd. Acts is rather like the historical parts of the old Testament and tells stories.

So no, I do not believe that the Bible is the word of God... Though it does contain many teachings from the Prophets and from Jesus which certainly are God Inspired.
It is the central Document of the Christian Faith.
