I voted No, Holly. I noticed you have Theist as your religion but you have the word Christian in your question. So I am wondering. Doesn't your question having "non-Christian" in it denote that one is a Christian?

The definition of a Christian is one who is a follower of Christ's beliefs and codes. The Christ also reiterated, expounded and changed many of the old Law covenant commandments and added new ones but he still said worship only the Father in the heavens.

There's also a commandment that states that if you sin willfully you're no longer worthy. And if you leave the Father he will leave you. And the list goes on and on covering every aspect and every angle. Plus there's some that state directly not to mix in company with false religious idea's and persons who believe in them too.

But all of these things are directed towards real Christians. Are you saying you are a theist completely with some Christian tendencies? Or are you saying you used to be a Christian and now you are just a theist?
Well, you don't have to be a Christian to vote in this poll. I'm actually a Liberal Christian but I do call myself a theist as well.

Hello everyone. Do you incorporate non-Christian religious practices into your personal faith? I am beginning to incorporate New Age practices into my faith. I am also exploring other religions and their practices. I believe that all religions have at least some element of truth in them and so it is nice to make use of non-Christian practices as a part of my personal worship.
I strongly believe in education, especially for Christians. I am catholic myself, but I believe that in order to understand the world, those around you, and yourself its important to study what others believe and find if what they believe and practice rings true to yourself. It may not ring true for you but at least you can see where they are coming from. Most of the time, that i've seen anyway, if you say "I understand, but..." it eases the tension a little bit.

Everytime I've looked at other belief systems I have found that the words might not be the same but the idea is. Sometimes that makes all the differece.

Since I am not christian I definitely incorporate non-christian practices into my work. But as a non-christian, I would also like to say that I incorporate some christian practices as well. Well, perhaps only two, love and forgiveness. They do indeed exist in other faiths, just not as prominent. And as I believe that if the tao is followed love will inevitably occur. And also a part of me feels that love is solely a human idea used to describe our emotional perceptions of the world. I still think more love is necessary in this world. But thats about it for the christian practices.

Hi Holly,
Yes, I do is the simple answer; I am 'multi-faith' - is the best way of describing me. I hug trees (and I'm not afraid of people seeing me!), I follow many 'new age' pratices, and some 'old age'-eg The tarot, palmistry, Astrology, numerology, radiesthesia, reiki,reflexology..........just to name a few!

I personally am happy in the conviction that I am not doing anything that would 'upset' God; to me that is the 'gauge' I use for my beliefs.

Explore, enjoy!!!!

To say no would be lying. I guess anyone who celebrates Christmas are practicing paganism, same with easter. I wouldn't have said that a few months ago until I began looking into where these originated. I have to tell you I'm not at all happy to see how things aren't as 'of God' as I grew up to believe. BUT with age comes knowledge...If we are to live as Jesus directed we'd not be celebrating these things...just because someone put christian symbols on something doesn't make it God's way. Even though I hold these holidays in my heart as for God doesn't make them so. This comes into play with what we do incorporate into our religious beliefs. Perhaps we should take a good hard look before we jump in. To follow the straight and narrow or to slip through on the wide and possibly sinful road. There is quite a fine line in religions. I have to agree with some here that there are a lot of similarities in faith once you look closer. Raised Baptist independant-fundamental and Menonite (the churches I attended) I never realized just what putting a tag on yourself meant.

I think we must be careful in what we incorporate into our faith. The best thing for a Christian would be to look in scriptures to see if it's ok. I don't think Jesus would object to much we do as long as our hearts were pure in it...but how much is just preference and how much is gospel?:)
