I am right brained, so my creative side doesn't like the analytical aspect of non-theism. It seems empty. I need action and ritual of some sort. Just not into supernatural beings.

  • I don't know what side of the brain I am activating when drinking from the light. All I know is that when I'm not drinking from the light, I am spiritually thirsty and hungry.
  • So I re-learn about allowing light; teach me how to drink from light in the midst of blocking; then there's a mix of blocking and allowing, as allowing is more and blocking is less, but which side of the brain—Left or Right? I'm not sure; perhaps both. Or maybe eventually both; I don't know. What does light do as my thoughts cycle through light's thoughts?
  • However, I understand it's my spirit in me that drinks from the light in me.
  • Other people have other words, so feel free to interpret.
  • I could call light unconditional love, and yes, I've had all emotions when blocking light, such as anger due to a situation.
  • Then I feel bad after my anger situation, so what do I do about that?
  • In the midst of my thoughts and emotions, I eventually allow unconditional love to teach me how to feed from light.
  • Light would also use my blocking to teach me why I was blocking. Recently, I've been learning more about images from light: that when I'm feeling bad, that's a fragile image; however, unconditional love light isn't a fragile image, so I can still borrow an image from an unconditional love light image because unconditional love light isn't a fragile image. This has allowed me to feed on light. I'm going to look further into this word "borrow." Maybe there's a better word. Essentially, what I'm saying is that image based on my abilities or unconditional love abilities.
  • This is why I would communicate that I allow unconditional love to teach me in the midst of my thinking, emotions, and situations, and actually, then two things are going on: my thinking gets cycled through unconditional love teaching.
  • What if you created your own ritual? What about collective consciousness or self? Help me with this because I've heard that while we're one with God, atheists comprehend how and what their words are, so it's easier for me to communicate. Nothing can separate us from being able to drink from unconditional love, which is why I communicated that I'll learn from atheists and agnostics. Nothing can keep us from drinking from unconditional love because people have different perspectives while we learn.
  • However, you were saying rituals, and maybe you also want rituals with others.
  • What if you find another person in your situation and ask to do rituals with them? Create unique rituals for you both to bond and learn how to allow happiness, or, as this is what you asked, happiness in Buddhist philosophy, (correct me if I'm wrong ok.) by learning what happiness is, what happens when you're not happy, what rituals are, and what it means to look for this person to do rituals. Okay, I'm back to analyzing. Perhaps using the left brain.
  • In the midst of your pain, allow yourself to learn rituals for those in pain, learn how to find others so they too can be in rituals, and bond together with what you're looking for as you use your right side of the brain. I'm not telling you to do this; I'm thinking this through; it's up to you what you do; no obligations, ok?

My pursuit to find a religion has ended. (I hope anyway.) There is just nothing out there for me. My philosophy is Buddhism, but not as a religion. Help me be happy with my decision to be agnostic

I think you've made a pretty reasonable decision. If you don't have any kind of religious knowledge, agnostic is the proper place to be. The cool thing about agnosticism is: there are zero policies concerning apostasy. There's nothing wrong with working tirelessly to answer important questions. You don't NEED to find a satisfying answer to those questions in order to make the pursuit of such answers worthwhile.

My favorite philosopher is Plato. His early works explore important questions (What is knowledge? What is justice?) But at the end of his books you don't get "the answer." You get a huge dose of dissatisfaction. You get the impression that finding the answer to those questions may be impossible.

But that's what makes them great.

Our society has lost rituals for seasons, stages of Life and events that go with, so I think people search for other rituals, like religious ones. I would prefer group rituals to individual ones. I am trying to find groups to do rituals with, but in a non theistic manner.

I was a Christian for 28 years. If I were to return, it would be with a progressive Christian denomination but right now I am not too interested. Thanks though.
