You Tube Mystery

Some time ago there was a post here about UFO sightings. I had once been a part of a group that saw something strange and replied to the post. I guess this rekindled my interest so I did a bit of browsing and found some great footage on youtube. This I posted here.

Today, on another forum I found a similar thread. I thought that my experience and the video might be of interest so I started looking for it. I eventually found it, posted 2015 and I clicked on the link. The video that is there is totally unlike the original. It shows, briefly, a light in the sky and that is that.

I have never been interested in conspiracy theories, but I have to ask why was the video removed and something of a much more bland nature put in its place?

A member, @Rick O'Shez, long gone now, an amateur astronomer commented on the video. Rick if you ever see this I would love to have a chat.

Hi Snow White. Thanks for replying. I had to look up "Mandela Effect" so I am rather unsure how to respond. I am fascinated though and grateful for your mentioning it.
I wish Rick would come back, or any of the others who saw the original. That would confirm things one way or the other.

Basically the idea behind the Mandela Effect is where a lot of people believe things were a certain way at one point, but they are now magically different. There's a long list of examples, but to list two just from memory:

1. Many people believe Jif peanut butter used to be called Jiffy. It wasn't, apparently.

2. A large number of people believe Ed McMahon worked for Publisher's Clearing House, including me, since I remember it as a kid. He didn't, apparently.

Assuming it's a direct link to a YouTube video, I don't think that is possible. Each video has a unique ID used for direct linking (among other things). It would be helpful if you'd linked this old thread (and thus the YouTube link) since there are things that could be checked to get an idea of the history of the video.

I have to say though, based on this limited information, it seems much more likely that you just misremembered the thread you were thinking of or the contents of that specific video.

@HonestJoe That is the standard response I guess. My post was in UFO hypotheses it was post 39.
@Rick O'Shez said that it was cool and wondered how it could be explained away. Hardly a suitable response to the bland offering that is there now.
This is why I am hoping that he may look in. He was an engineer and an amateur astronomer and seemed to be a very switched-on guy.

I do believe that makers can ask that their own videos be removed. There have been some that I liked that I cannot find any longer. I think one or two Flerfs that realized how wrong they were did this. There is no need of conspiracy theories.
