What makes a Christian?

.......Biblically speaking, any individual who trusts Jesus for salvation is forgiven of sin

Yes, to the ^ above ^ but I find most people ignore the tiny word " if " found at 1 John 1:7 a
The word " if " carries with it BIG meaning because it is only "if" we walk/ keep walking.....

Why do all the non-religious claim there's 41,000 denominations of Christianity? There isn't. The people that count that number use every nation's religion as a different denomination. There isn't 200+ versions of Catholicism, there is one Catholic church. In reality there is probably only 400-500 different major Christian denominations.

But anyways, there is the Nicene Creed and the Apostle's Creed that most denominations swear allegiance to. Most swear by the Bible, and most of those denominations swear by the King James Version of the Bible, although this isn't always true. If you believe Christ is your lord and savior but don't attend church or read the Bible I would still consider yourself a Christian, even if a nominal one.

Christians believe Christ is God made flesh. That he's perfect. He is God incarnate. At least to trinitarian Christians. That's all that really matters to them.
CH gases spirit is God in its flesh as earth the rock body only as the perfect God. Earth our planet.

CH that arose from entombed body leaving sin holes involved the sacrificed humans bio life flesh...no man is God. Disappearance of gods tombed rock body...gods heavens cold immaculate body gone also.

A teaching by humans as humans for humans.

Understanding came from personal human bio life sacrificed of waters holy bio cell blood bones. As a teaching sacrificed life taught us all.

Our family enslaved conscious memories taught us all about humans past and present suffering. Rich men's cause the hypocrite man.

Red celled human blood is only supported by the God earths the iron stone.

Humans using nuclear metal radiating transmitters killed us...in science terms were criminal murderers.

No technology allowed. Ignored by rich greedy humans in governing science inventive rich men's greed.

Man the destroyer.

Knows the paths to remove physical mass in chemistry to reveal just in water the living single cell existing naturally. He now sees it. As his machine body already owned the removal of the same mass.

Machines lie.

Theories third time destruction...electricity my constant only...not light.... . And Not life's holy water with iron stone ...not one form. I'll get it caused he knows in thesis using all data from bible.

I'll pretend as I remove gods earth rock mass to stop it before I get past electricity to only waters living biology...electricity I'll get third time from suns rock dust above.

Putting living bio cell trapped in an amount of rocks mass as a destroyed bio life in the holy heavens water. I put above myself by causes. All machines I use. As all machines were already time shifted and are time shifting again by reacting.

My intention by destroyer theories.

Not natural life in the heavens just machines living in electricity. Their life source.

Taught as a Christian by constant reminders preached against science.

Without understanding science.

Humans teaching CH methane for example

Theist uses modern terms claiming I'll re theory all previous humans science terms.

Doesn't impose what first science man theoried for at thesis itself. Instead places all modern terms as the past.

Men never owned living machines.

Men owned batteries jars..urns clay... to cause machine to function...isn't electricity. Today thesis only is for modern technology for modern type machines.

Christ in ancient terms acids.

What theistic lying involves. Lying.

Man says humans are monkey humans. Were monkey humans.

Is a modern man. The heavens must have changed for my life now not to be monkey man isn't a theory. It's researched observation.

Heavens mass evolved.

Why you ask.

Ice he said remassed as it had melted in past. Reborn end of each year mass accrued lost body of sacrificed cooled gas water... Saviour.

Not evolution..researched observations.

Water when degraded loses living microbes.

Gases cooled supports cooler water supports living microbes re emerge in water.

Research only says increased single celled microbes in water healed biology.

Re a search. Observation. Is not any Thesis.

Humans lacking full conscious thoughts vying to be advised before life is destroyed by machines technology.

Machine already transcended space time by changed earth mass.
Man's mind theories say O 24 light is opposed cancelled by O 24 clear non alight. I transcend time too.

Theories lie. No one asked you to impose those kind of thoughts upon just naturally existing.

Legal with God..no man is God. Reasons.

As does the OT, loathing of believers of different beliefs, genocide, murder, slavery, rape, theft etc.

Read Matt 5,6 and 7. This lays out the doctrine of Christianity. All people - men and women, Jew and Gentile, free and slave, rich and poor etc become one in Christ. And Jesus raised the bar on moral behavior - forgiving your enemies, praying for those who hate you, turning the other cheek, being humble, honest, obedient. Respecting authority. Being diligent and fair. No committing adultery or divorce. And so on.
THESE ARE THINGS OUR MODERN WORLD REJECTS, NOT THIS 'GENOCIDE, MURDER, SLAVERY, RAPE, THEFT ETC' in the Old Testament.

Let me get this right, you say GENOCIDE, MURDER, SLAVERY, RAPE, THEFT ETC are perfectly fine so long as you pray, welcome your rapist with open arms, forget about earning respect because respect is expected, I'm not going into adultery and divorce.

Our oldest daughter will have nothing to do with religion, or church, yet she is more of a Christian than most who profess to be Christians. She's a perfect example of 'preach the Gospel, only when necessary, use words.' Her attitude towards others, non-judgmental. If she sees someone hungry, she will not give money but will get him/her something to eat. If the person in front of her at the checkout in the grocery store has to put some back for lack of money, she'll pay for it etc.

I very much agree with the above, and I have found some atheists and agnostics to be more "Christian" than some Christians, including some here at RF.

Christians are made of...
65% Oxygen
18% Carbon
9.5% Hydrogen
3.2% Nitrogen
1.5% Calcium
0.3% Bejesium
And a dozen or so other elements in small proportion.

No, but on these forums I notice things like SLAVERY become people's 'objection' to the bible.
But slavery disapeared from Christian Rome - early Christians did not think, 'Wait... the God of the Old Testament did nothing to stop slavery, so why am I believing in this Jewish book?'
Slavery is an excuse.
The bible had little to say about our carbon footprint, defoliation of the landscape, lack of social services, gay rights, progressive taxation, emperialism and the like. The bible is about YOUR behavior and YOUR character.
After WW1 there was a dramatic decline in religion in Europe, for instance. It was as if people blamed God for the terrible war. Not thinking about what Christianity has to say on the topic of hate and killing.
Read Philemon in the New Testament for one of the most important statements about slavery.

What are, in your opinion, the defining characteristics of a Christian?

There are 41,000+ denominations in Christianity. That fact alone shows that there have to be a lot of differences between them. But are there still communalities left? Has the claim to be a Christian any value any more?
Being an atheist answers exactly one question and nothing more. Does being a Christian tell me more?
I have a very broad notion of what makes a person a Christian: they believe Jesus is the messiah who died for their sins.

Beyond that, I also have a vague sense that there is the standard orthodox versions of Christianity that accept the Creeds, meaning that they are Trinitarian and have the Chalcedonian formulation of the dual nature of Christ. Other versions of Christianity exist that would , by those standards, be considered heterodox. I try not to enter into debates with regards to these issues, as I don't really have a dog in the race.

No.it didn't.

I fact slavery.was one of the aspects of Rome that led to the downfall of the Western empire

Not sure what you refer to. I don't have a dog in this fight - I just read that slavery became less and less important to European economies after the fall of Rome.

Yes I've read that too, often writen by Christians with an axe to grind and no historical savvy but using coincidence to big up their cause.

The fall of Rome was partly because they had not been expanding and hence not captuting people to fill the slave gap as slaves died off.

Your comment "But slavery disapeared from Christian Rome" is not correct, it did not disappear, but it did reduce because Rome was becoming complacent.
