Why do you say he had a Roman father?
He was a Roman citizen because he was born in Tarsus, a Roman city, but I have never heard that he had a Roman father.
That was a hyper-jump in that he assumed that all Roman citizens are Gentiles. In that Paul traced his lineage back - he was Jewish through and through.

You gave the answer yourself. Paul was a Roman. He was a Roman citizen. That would have been passed down through his father.

Paul was of the tribe of Benjamin. The Jews say that it is the mother who gives the right of being a Jew and the father who gives the tribe. So I guess he father was a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin.
Paul says that he is a Roman citizen because he was born in Tarsus. This would have been a free city of Rome and so people born there were granted citizenship.
Some claim Paul was not a Roman citizen but I don't think there is good evidence for that, it seems to be more that they see Luke's Acts as an exaggerated fiction for some reason.

Coming into a conversation at the very end and then making a judgment call on the last sentence without context or history....

Well.....

I have no answer for you either. :)
One does not have to be there for the entire conversation to see a major mess up by the person grasping at straws. But at least you were right on a minor point for once.

Really? You found one minor point where he was wrong and you are trying to declare victory from that?
You need to read what I wrote to you. If you are coming up with that question, Heaven knows how you came to that point. I sure don't

Perhaps the fact that your ignoring everything else and focusing on Paul.

Tell you what, acknowledge everything else - you know, the stuff that is backed up - and then we'll discuss Paul.

I've never heard of Sophia; can you tell me more about Sophia as the bringer of enlightenment?

Sophia is a complex figure in Gnosticism. I can give you how the Sethians viewed Sophia, as they were one of the oldest Gnostics who influenced much of the later Gnostic thought, although the idea of Sophia evolved over time.

Her name literally means "wisdom" and she's often regarded as a personification of wisdom.

The Sethians believed that our physical universe was created by the Demiurge, who took from the essence of the One (essentially God) to form the world. In doing so, the Demiurge divided the One into several parts, trapping these parts in material bodies.

Sophia is used in myth to personify this, being poetically referred to as a fallen spirit or a fallen angel. She's the part of God that has been trapped in the material world and she's the one responsible for our mental consciousness, being divided into several pieces or "shards" of light that's used to animate living beings.

Mystically, Sophia is said to be rescued by the Logos, another personification, who descends into the material world to free her. Logos was often identified with the spiritual body of Christ but this was more of a mystical teaching about how one can free themselves from the material world by gaining "spiritual insight/knowledge" called "gnosis" through reason.

When one achieved gnosis, they would be able to free themselves from the material world. Otherwise, when they died, they would reincarnate.

It's superficially similar to a lot of dharmic religion but it actually has its roots in Neoplatonism. Sophia is the bearer of enlightenment because she's the one who receives the salvific gnosis from the Logos and, since she is the part of God that was divided in order to form the material world, she's where the individual gnostic ultimately gains their gnosis from.

By receiving this gnosis from the Logos through Sophia, the individual learns how to return their shard of light to the One, returning to their spiritual home and becoming a part of the whole again. It essentially makes the Sethian one with God.

I did, I also understood what you wrong. It is too bad that you cannot do the same.

I have been back for quite some time. Instead of unfounded personal attacks why didn't you answer the rest of his post?

I prefer the Romantic literary period versions. And my own versions, of course.
Hey Everyone, so Viker: do you mean the romantic period literature as in the divine comedy by dante, related to lucifer¿¿¿, and are you really on the side of lucifer and co, perhaps¿

I went from Genesis to the Gospels to Paul - scripturally

All you gave back to me was your personal viewpoint

Only you really didn't. You've provided your take on that scripture, and I have demonstrated where that is incorrect with both proper language and Catechism. Far more than my personal view, which would take this in a very different direction.

I will go back and look because it sure didn't look like it to me.

Certainly. And most certainly.
have you read all of the divine comedy, Viker? i read a lot, but i haven't read dante's novel except very little at its start.

did you know that The Urantia Book (aka The Urantia Papers) is the best divine revelation ever¿, and that it speaks about part of lucifer's manifesto, and that it is against lucifer and explains why he and his rebel, fallen followers are so iniquitous beyond evil?
as someone hereon said previously: URANTIA legally lost its copyright around 2001, because it was written by divine/spiritual authors/revelators.
Urantia is the name of our planet which meaning is found elsewhere online, for example here: www.UBannotated.com

Viker: do you think URANTIA would be real, authentic, and true?, would you even like to read it or at least even partially¿

Considering nearly everyone has gotten their stories about Lucifer incorrect, in that Lucifer technically presents as feminine (for one), I doubt I could genuinely show interest in Urantia. Lucifer works with eight other amazing deities, Corniger (often mistakenly referred to as Satan) is one of these amazing entities. The Nine member pantheon even works well with other deities and even various other members of the demonic divine. Maybe, if you're interested, you'd like to learn more? I am a member of an incredible and positively affirming organization. I could help clear up some misconceptions if you'd wish. :)
