COVID killed twice as many republicans as it did democrats.

"used death records and voter registration records to determine the political breakdown of those who died during the pandemic"

Why would anyone even do that? And then break it down to political.party's... If its isn't POLITICAL?
EVERYTHING is political or has political implications.

Besides, why would you be skeptical anyway? Republicans were obviously at much higher risk due to refusing preventative measures. Mask and vax defiers dying to COVID became a meme
I doubt that explanation

Those who don't take the vaccine trust their gut feeling and dare rely on their own immune system while most vaxxers don't.

Both facts highly improve ones immune system, therefore I am sure that this artical is misinformation and used as propaganda to induce fear, just in time for the next covid wave starting in China "coming" all over the world again

So predictable...boring also

So are you saying most of the elderly and poor health people that died were republicans? Be clear here with your answer.
Yes. Most of all people who died were Republicans.

In the U.S., about 81% of deaths from the disease have been in people age 65 and older. Risks are even higher for older people when they have other health conditions.
Among people > 65 or with underlying health conditions, most were Republicans.

Yes, there are multiple risk actors, both for contracting the disease and for degree of virulence once contracted, but: from the total death count, there were more Republicans.

Why would there not be? Do you think that both parties took equal preventive measures, or did one mask and vaccinate less than the other?

Gut feelings improve your immune system?
Sorry, but a naïve immune system remains naïve unless exposed either to an antigen or a vaccine.

 Nope, nothing about political parties..

COVID-19: Who's at higher risk of serious symptoms?.
You still don't know how to facepalm correctly. What percentage of those people were Republican? What percentage were Democrat? What percentage of each died?

I don't know whether this is as proposed but it seems that the elderly overall in the UK did take the necessary precautions and vaccines when offered (regardless of political affiliation), and the elderly do tend to vote more right-wing here too. Any deaths were probably either from catching the virus before vaccines became available or because they were at risk from any prior health issues they had anyway.

How does trusting your gut feeling and not vaxxing improve your immune system? Vaccinations literally improve your immune system. It's their whole schtick.

Because generally the craziness was coming from members of the Republican party. It is natural to see if their ignorance and arrogance had negative effects on them.

And yes, it did.
I wonder if the effect is due to the
MAGA portion of Republicans?

Wonder if it is true or just propaganda or worse
It could be verified by using the same method they did, and why wouldn't it be true? You're more likely to get a disease when you avoid preventative measures against it.

I don't understand why some of you struggle with the notion that irresponsible behavior is often harmful.

lol nope, those who were willfully ignorant and irresponsible suffered a significantly higher rate of death. The data speaks for itself.
As for disinformation and propaganda, the biggest propagators were the dopey and dimwitted anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists, and science deniers.

Those taking the vaccine was not a political decision in the UK.
The vast majority of elderly of all political persuasions were vaccinated, took precautions, and isolated. However a number still died. as was to be expected.

Quite, and one essential difference between the politics of the USA and the UK - we don't tend to politicise science or medicine. Which is why most here were probably so disappointed with the likes of Trump and Bolsonaro as to their attitudes towards Covid.
