Athiest Thanksgiving Prayer

Loving Earth, we thank thee for this food thou hast provided.
Bright Sun, thank thee for thy warmth
Dark night, thank thee for rest.
Thanks to my animal family, to eons of time and evolution for this moment.
Thanks to scientists and engineers for microscopes, telescopes, medicine and spaceships.
Thank you to all fellow travelers who learn, grow, and celebrate this beautiful, incredible, diverse, ever changing life.

What is everyone's Thanksgiving prayer?

If you are asked to pray, how do you handle it? Have you ever had relatives who use prayer to preach? Haha

Thank you the Big Bang and ancient ancestor monkeys who bless us with this food through science. May your words passed down through Charles Darwin (PBUH) be carried on through our savior Richard Dawkins.

Each year, the kids grow so fast, parents aging, you want to stay the same, but time is gone so quickly. Another year, another memory of crazy relatives and families putting up with one another. There's never enough time is there?

For fancy family dinners, my grandmother would say the Selkirk Grace:

Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be Thankit!

If I had to give a grace before Thanksgiving, I'd probably go with that out of tradition.
