How did you find RF?

It’s been a while but iirc I found it through googling for a religious debate forum. Prior to this i was often on Yahoo Answers Religion and Spirituality, as well as a small chatroom dedicated to that forum (and polls and surveys)

I remember when RF was booming with threads and posts. LHP DIR was very active and i had many friends in that section. What I love about RF is the site layout, there are so many useful categories for discussion. Another thing is the diversity which, though it isn’t as diverse as it used to be, it is still very diverse and that’s what makes this place a great place to learn and debate topics.

I only wish it were more active.
@Trailblazer told me about it. I have been following her around to forums for a decade.

I was initially on a mission from God - kinda like the blues brothers without all the police carnage - to visit every single religious chat space on the internet looking for people to preach Baha'i too.

Then google led me here and here led me away from Baha'i faith, so without the sense of being on some epic mission to convert everyone I decided I no longer needed to be on every site as I'd found the best site.

That's how I came to be a piece of the RF furniture.

In my opinion.

I don’t remember. But I know that it was called Religious Education Forum then and that it was not like it is today.

The food fight i was on did the dirty by shadow banning all non American / Canadian members the day after trump took office (??? It tells much of their politics to me).
So the search was on for a similar food fight.
I found RF and really liked it. Well organised, well moderated, quite cerebral on some threads. I could discuss cosmology, art and history without getting threatened to be shot by a redneck or beaten by an ex convict (exciting times ;-). Who needs food fights anyway.
Using a VPN i contacted several people on the old forum to tell them about it. Some have joined RF, one or few have moved on. A handful have stuck it out and a couple of dubious characters have even become mods.

A while later the old forum went belly up, perhaps lack of global advertising revenue. Bof..

I was invited here by a friend from another forum (IIDB) to silence a big mouth which I did (15 years ago), and then I stayed. :)

I think I searched for "religious debates". I'm not too sure as it was literally half my lifetime ago.

The board I was on previously had run its course for me, and I was ready to move on to the next phase in recovering from fundamentalist Christianity. So I simply typed a Google search for "religious forums", thinking to find a bunch of options, and it was the first hit.

Once I saw how diverse it was and respectful off all perspectives being shared, I considered myself lucky to have found something so easily that was suited for myself where I was at now.

All you need is love.
I came across RF in a Google search for "secular religious forums" a little while after I had left a very toxic Christian message board.

I was banned from more than one Christian forum on Delphi Forums before I came here.
Most Christians are not as tolerant of Baha'is as the Christians are here.

Yeah, I brought you and Duane (@Truthseeker) over here and then you became regulars.
That way, when I left BUE, I did not have to leave my friends behind. :)

I visit BUE just to see what is going on. Same old same old, like here but with less people I guess. But of course here there is more freedom here for Baha'is to say what they want and less chance that Baha'is or any other group will take over.
