Murders can happen spontaneously in any society. People are the same everywhere.
So the issue in the US has a non human cause.

Try'n to get this thread closed too? What's the ratio of thwarted criminals to dead school children? The truth is far more harm has been done than good, but keep running your tongue along the length of your gun's barrel.
Isn't there something in the Bible about living by the sword and dying by the sword? And turning swords into ploughshares.?

But let's ignore proportions and catalysts.Murders can happen spontaneously in any society. People are the same everywhere.
Best option: No hostile tantrums. So what's his option, sit back say nothing and wait a day or two for it to happen again?
It was neither hostile nor a tantrum. It was an simply an objective analysis.Best option: No hostile tantrums.
Does no good to yell at people whose minds need to change.

This is something new?The problem is the complete lack of mental health services in this country.
We not only have the worst health care in the 1st world, but the worst mental health care.
Ignoring the problem won't make it go away, and that's the current plan it seems.
Sometimes.Because that has worked?
That is a novel use of the word “objective” that I’d not run across before. It was neither hostile nor a tantrum. It was an simply an objective analysis.
Better than anti-gunner tantrums.Because that has worked?

Problem: Getting gun rights types to come up with and accept useful regulation. So bumped it down to only 606 mass shootings this year in America. I'd to think how high it would be if there were hostile tantrums.

Problem #2: Getting anti gun types to appear reasonable.

So yelling it is.Moved beyond any of it, no skin off my nose if Americans enjoy shooting each other....
Japan has a big video game culture, yet acts of violence are extremely rare there. Same with many European countries.Anybody else wonder about a connection between the rise in mass shootings and the rise in popularity of violent video games?
I mean how many people (kids especially) in the US spend a significant part of their day shooting at make-believe people on computer screens?
"The psychological group reports that more than 90% of children in the United States play video games. Among kids between the ages of 12 and 17, the number rises to 97%. More important, 85% or more of video games on the market contain some form of violence. The titles seem to say it all: “Manhunt,” “Thrill Kill,” “Gears of War” and “Mortal Kombat.” However, even the seemingly benign “Pokemon Go” requires players to go to battle.
The American Psychological Association observed in an August 2015 policy statement that research demonstrated a link “between violent video game use and both increases in aggressive behavior … and decreases in prosocial behavior, empathy, and moral engagement.”

I think to some extent these games have helped normalize gun violence. Probably especially true to an already disturbed mind.
Fresh piles of dead school children are gonna stir up a little passion, and responses of "Oh, well. Thoughts and prayers. Zzz." are gonna stir up a little frustration.Problem: Getting gun rights types to come up with and accept useful regulation.
