British Royal Household vs Netflix Series "The Crown"

I don't want to sound mean or something, but I think that it's not that bad that the Queen died before she had any chance to watch Season Five. It's the most important season because of what happened to Diana and because of the challenges that the Windsors faced.
That said, I think King Charles is modernizing the monarchy, and that's a good thing. He stands for the renovation after a very traditionalist era.

It is only TV FICTION none of it is the real deal. Not something that I would want to watch.
However some people believe it is all true.

Royal Family news: Should Britons boycott The Crown after royal backlash? POLL | Royal | News – Celebrity Land International

It seems the Windsor did not appreciate this TV show. Which many historians have found (despite some small flaws here and there) pretty accurate.
What do you guys think?
The 5th season will be the most important. Since it will deal with Diana's and Charles' divorce. And with Diana's death.

I do believe it is a show that unlike others focuses on the deepest recesses of the charactets' psyche.
It is really useful.

There’s something kind of sadly ironic about having a show that’s largely based on the drama involving Princess Diana, when such media coverage arguably lead to her real life death and the media intrusion were largely seen as the instigators. At least from what I remember at the time. I was pretty young, but that was always the impression I got from the various news coverage of her death.

I know it’s just a tv show at the end of the day, it still feels weirdly exploitive. But that’s show business I suppose

The Royal family are entitled to their opinions. Whether or not the public cares, I can’t say. I’m not British.

It analyzes people psychologically. It's a sort of therapy session.

It is surrogate voyeurism. In the form of a docudrama.

Very low life from my point of view. As some people actually come to form opinions about the royal family and their staff based on this fiction.

It surely deals with a re-interpretation of true stories.

I must say: one of the most realistic and historically reliable portrayals of Princess Diana's famous interview.
I am speechless. I am amazed by how great this show has been.
They found an excellent actress.

I am sure the 6th season will be as good.

I have been waiting for this season for years,
At last...

The most important season of the series

Skanky Old Mongrel!
I thank my lucky stars that absolutely nobody in my family tree was ever famous in any way.
The idea of a series titled 'The Badgers' would leave me in a very shocked state!

I really enjoyed the 2006 film 'The Queen'.

That was a nice movie.
Even if it was more about politics. The secret relations between a monarch and a Prime Minister within a parliamentary monarchy.
That was very interesting.

That said... Charles and Diana have never had a private life. Neither of them.
In the Netfix series you empathize with both of them, because they are human.
You can be human and fragile, and preserve your royal dignity.
