What Are You Doing?

I tend to do other things while I use RF, just popping in here or there. For example, I might leave it open on the counter while I clean the kitchen, and check in when I get tired.

Does anyone else do this? If so, what else are you doing?

If not, what did you do today(for those who's day is mostly behind them), or what will you do today(for those who's day is mostly ahead)?
I've been:
- finalising the eulogy I will be giving at my father's funeral on Friday (3 pages, covering a 95 year life),
- installing a new printer which I had to buy in a hurry yesterday, to replace the old one which failed just in time to prevent me printing off the eulogy ,
- signing off the redecoration work on my sitting room, which the painters finished today,
- and doing some shopping, on the bike.

For me, this has been an unusually busy day. I'm now about to cook some supper, after which I may start reinstalling the lamps that were disconnected for the decorating. It's going to take several days to put everything back.

Right now I'm having a bit of chocolate with mid-morning tea. Sometimes I take a break from some computer volunteer task to check-in here.

When email notifications used to work, I'd take a few seconds whereever and whenever to read and perhaps post.

You are a busy person!

It does seem the electronics fail when we need them most... My phone screen kicked the bucket over the weekend, so I missed a meeting cancelation for my son, and had him there anyways.

We're signing off on some redecoration, too... only, by signing off on, I mean we're doing it all ourselves... Next up is painting the color into a few folksy branch/bird paintings I had on one of the entryway walls. Its hard because I'm short...

Oh I thought you were tall.:D

Yes I got decorators in because, at my age and with my back, I do not do ceilings any more and I needed a crack filling and the ceiling repapered over, before painting. And once the guys are there to do that they might as well do the whole job. If it's just walls with no repapering, I do it myself.

But I'm pleased with the colours I found, which almost exactly match what was there before but a bit brighter (the previous shade of off-white on the woodwork had come to look a bit like knicker stains:confused:, so I've changed that to apricot white, which I've used elsewhere and quite like). One thing I've done now is make a record, on the computer, of all the shades used in every room, so that I know what paint to use to touch them up or repaint, if I need to. Matching colours from scratch can be very tedious.

Bridging the Gap Between Believers and Skeptics
I spend much of my mornings reflecting on memories. After I am done with that I will listen to music or talk radio. I spend more time I would like to admit on Spotify and YouTube. And I play free private server MMOs that have shut down, like Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes and The Sims Online. Last night I had an issue which my ethernet cable kept disconnecting me from the City of Heroes server while I was in a group.

I ended up putting the cable in storage but accidentally broke a glass lamp shade while pulling its cord. So after I visit my mom I intend on getting a replacement. I already cleaned up the mess and took the remaining part of the glass and put it with the other things I'm going to take with me to see what a local hardware store has to replace it. If I have the choice I'm thinking I might replace it with a plastic version of the same thing, to avoid something like this happening again.

Ah, the joys of being an adult and having to fix things yourself...

That's really smart. As many times as we've had to rebuy a color, that is something we oughta do...

One of the kids enjoys coloring on the walls a lot.

We redid one of the ceilings a few days ago. A vibrant red with a sacred geometry tapestry(that is cream and red) over it. My dad and his wife thought it was painted onto the ceiling...

Cats !!! Can't live with them, can't live without them.

Update.

The children have all returned from various outings, havoc ruled for a while, and now they are all in bed... And that's where I'm going. I can now concentrate on RF (and maybe a couple of Android games) and listen to the dulcet tones of hubby snoring for a couple of hours

Aren't they wonderfully adept at helping you keep your place filled with cat toys.

This place is one big toy store.

You mean... there's a time when havoc doesn't rule?

Nasty colds must be going around.

When the weather here first got cool after summer, bam!!, I instantly caught a cold.

I didn't mean that, I meant I'm having a ****.
Damn language nanny.

I don’t know why RF censors b-a-b-y. I guess the mods don’t approve of words that remind us of birth.

Are you still in hospital?

Funny, I can't manage RF when I'm having a ****. Hence the reason im late for this thread

Congratulations! Again, I don’t know why RF censors b-a-b-y.
