The GOP is why America is withering.

So the GOP seeks to make overly obscene material inaccessible to children in libraries, while making it more difficult for activists to target and groom other people’s children.
The question is who is going to make that decision?

Schools get input from parents and others all the time, so making such decisions is simply not an easy task, especially since you're never going to be able to please everybody.

And yet only one party actively creates and oppresses the poor.
Untrue.
2 parties do that.
Both persecute the homeless as they try to live
wherever they can. Democrats too will destroy
shacks, tiny homes, tents, etc....all while providing
no alternative. They also set up legal roadblocks
for unsophisticated folk to start small businesses,
eg, lawn mowing. How? They create much legal
liability for customers who hire contractors, which
can only be avoided by measures the poor just don't
know of. And they certainly can't afford lawyers
to help set up a business that protects customers.

They like the idea of doing something without actually having to put thought into it.
I guess they did put some thought in this. It seems to me like a typical FUaD(*) attack. By explicitly not defining what "harmful" is, they leave it to the judges. We know how arbitrary that will end up.
Their calculation is that that will lead to librarians being very restrictive in what they lend to children, more so than if they had named the books or given definitive criteria.

The obvious counter attack would be to create an index of "harmful" books. It doesn't even have to be in Idaho.

These laws are making it hard for people in different fields to do their jobs. Obstructionists...

This really is not a horrible thing. I approve.
Let's not pretend both parties aren't the face of anti-citizen evil. At this point in wondering if it's like WWE, the dems and reps just laughing maniacally and counting their millions.
I'm sure corrupt Democrat ruled states like New York and California, two of the most oppressive states in the nation, will be very happy to hear that they are not responsible for America withering.

The poor are always complaining.
But jobs abound, & pay is rising.
That's not so withery.
Times are a little more turbulent than
usual, sure. To see a downward spiral
is a bad choice.
Classic old-time talking about, “Why, when I was young, I pulled myself on two broken legs, uphill, through the snow to get to school. And I was THANKFUL for the opportunity, by golly!” :D:p

But reality frowns on such comparisons. The poor have it harder than we did in our younger years. Socio-economic class mobility is way down in the US compared to in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, not due to lack of chutzpah, but due to the money (particularly the all-important “disposable income”, plus economic support moneys).

The above graph actually shows how todays younger workers work harder for less pay.

Basically, the rich, whether born at the top of the ladder or having successfully climbed it, are then/(now/since Reagan), been pouring boiling tar down on those trying to climb it.

That came out'a nowhere.
Perception that USA is "withering" is just due to
focusing upon the negatives. When was the
golden age that we supposedly had it better?
There are always problems to address.
But enjoy the progress too.

What a bunch of hooey. Typical of NPR they distort the story. The Bill in question would have eliminated the exemption currently allowed for schools and public entities such as libraries from prosecution under the statute of providing harmful materials to minors. The existing statute defines such materials. It wasn't a bill that targeted librarians at all. But more importantly, the Bill is "dead". The Idaho Senate has killed it. So, much ado about nothing.

Easy. All it takes is looking at the major card carrying Democrats.

Bill Gates,George Soros, , Warren Buffet, Tim Cook, and Jeff Bezos.

Tell me who they support and stand for?

Also tell me who accepts their money every election year?

Oh by the way, did you forget?

No it didn’t. Mine was a direct response to, “jobs abound and pay is rising.”
The jobs that exist are minimum wage to low paying for the most part, and relative to cost of living standards from our own time as working youths, these jobs are insufficient to support anything like a worker in the 50’s, 60’s, or 70’s could afford. Not to mention the hours, which are now longer. All of which means less chance for continuing education, no more pensions, less money to send kids to college (with rising college costs and less tax-funded supports), plus medical costs that result in 1 significant problem and your broke for life….etc…etc…. None of which was the norm in our or our parents’ times.

Thank all that is holy and not. The ado is that Anti-American, anti-freedom shysters in office would even begin to propose such utter madness. A good ol’ tarring and feathering is due. (Don’t worry. We’ll use cold tar on the precious snowflakes.). It’ll mostly come off in a month or two. Probably. :D

What about them? Are you concerned that they are part of some child-sex-trafficking and cannibalism for Illuminati immortality from a pizzeria “basement” ring…..sort of thing? Or is this about them injecting “5G” microchips in COVID vaccinations? o_O

Politicians on both sides of the aisle. Of course.
But the overall quantities from billionaires to republicans makes these donations cower in the corner by comparison.
Report: Billionaires pour money into 2022 campaign, most of it to help GOP - Wisconsin Examiner
Not to mention the dark money in super-PACs since the corrupt conservative Citizens United farce was thrust upon our nation. Along with other conspiracies, do you believe that unions are out spending the billionaires in these super packs?

No I didn’t forget. But your very weak ‘sources’ apparently did.
There are two reasons (three really) that the green new deal, tax hikes on the rich, and and other useful and patriotic legislation have not passed during “democratic control”. They are….
1. Manchin
2. Sinema
And
3. The lockstep uniformity of the unthinking Republican Monolith that blocks everything good for our nation simply because it was originated from the other side of the aisle, and because they uniformly (truly do appear to) hate America for no good reason.

Question: Why do Republicans hate America and American ideals so much?

Why don't you show how it should be done right? You could start a company that turned over all the increase in productivity to employee salaries. I'm sure your employees would love you for it. Let us know how it works out.

Aside from relative pay vs cost of living changes,
Many jobs available where I live are far above min wage.

You might ask Democrats in my town why they've
raised the cost of building permits & inspections
to the point that they're 25% of the cost of a
remodeling project (per a contractor friend).
Blaming it all on Republicans is just tribal blindness.
