Would Jesus torture animals for food ???

first it was a jewish practice not christian!
second...as has already been pointed out it was done in order to get jews away from idol worship by giving them something that was common in all cultures to do and still pray to HaShem...i doubt in a Third Temple that sacrafices will be done.

I dont believe that violence has a place in peoples lives, be that violence against animal or human, (both are the same anyway, we are a form of animal ).
I feel that taking to heart the teachings of Jesus and then supporting violence, be it holy wars, (usually christian / Jew against Muslum), witch hunts (Salem), inquisitions (the catholic church refuses to appoligise ??), child abuse (priests sexually abusing minors), the natural violence poor nations are subjected to when the churches are holding so much wealth or the incompassionate way animals are raised then murdered, cut up so their flesh is available for greedy selfish people to eat, is sacroligious(??) and basically denying your faith. The churches should be the first ones to be standing up and shouting out against these things...not taking part in them........told you i was crazy.

I have in the past yes, Im a born again vegan :D, and i have done thousands of things that will land me in HELL too. Most to do with sex and drugs and cussing though, im not cruel to people or animals.
So even when i die i wont escape these greedy people.
It'll be one big BBQ but i guess seeing its hell you'll get to eat children too !!!
I bet their alot like veal....yummy and tender.

Seriously, if you think that's all there is to it, just taste, your wrong. Many of us liked the taste of meat. I did. Still do like the taste of some kinds. But I don't eat it. Why? Because I feel it would be immoral of me. Does that mean you are immoral? No, unless you percieve it as such. By your words, if the flesh of a human tasted good, it should be justified to eat it. :sarcastic

And to Maike: I don't think it helps your cause much to tell people that they are evil, and are going to hell if they don't stop eating meat. This merely makes them see you as arrogant. People have to come to their own conclusions, and if they did some research, I'm sure that many, if not most, would stop eating meat. However, it is not my area to force this upon them. People MUST come to their own conclusions, without being forced. Otherwise you get something like a fascist church/state.

That, to me, is one of the biggest conundrums in life.
I became a vegetarian in my early twenties; thinking eating meat was immoral. What about fish? hmm what about drinking milk? eating eggs? eating vegetables ? they ate a creation of God, are they not?

I was a die-hard vegan activist when I was younger.....it is very tiring......I applaud those who can do it...but it is less stressful on yourself if you accept that you are not going to be able to change a practice that has gone on for thousands of years.

I prefer to set an example....I don't tell people I am vegetarian, as I do not want to be judged....I am very healthy, never get sick......I lift weights and am actually better-built than most of the meat-eaters I know.

I just ask that vegetarians and meat-eaters try to respect each other a little more...I am not seeing this. I understand why vegetarians fight for the animals....I don't understand why meat-eaters defend something we all know is not ok. I would never resort to calling people names to prove my point....stop eating meat not because of what I say....but because by my example you can see that it is not only unnecessary, it is wrong, and deep inside you are coward if you don't want to accept it for what it is.

I adopted Buddhism into my faith becaues I am a vegetarian. I think that animals have some degree of conscious. Perhaps even more than us somtimes, for they have not yet set up smoky industries and polluted the world yet with their filth. I think a weak reason to kill animals is to control the population. This is false considering most animals have been her much longer than humans.

Jesus did not kill animals for food. It is said that in the end times (When the Messiah returns), the animals will greatly benefit. There are too many animals caged up and tortured so people can eat food they don't need. Even meat that is labeled halal/kosher, do you know how it was raised? Should we blindly believe that in this age of deception this meat was raised cage free and free from hardship/torture/branding and killed properly. But Jesus was a nazarite, and therefore did not eat meat. When he returns, he will be one of the animal liberators, he will be vegan. Adam(as) was given the trees(fruit/nuts) and herbs and plants to eat. Noah was allowed to eat animals-after the flood. If there was a great flood, is it logical to think the vegetation would be washed away? I have seen small floods, even they uproot large trees. If there is no vegetation, then is it logical to think God allowed people to eat animals while things settled down and regrew(plants/trees/herbs)? In some areas(some desert areas/where the ground is frozen most of the year) it may be necessary to eat animals because the ground cannot sustain sufficient plant life for humans, but the scrub plants can be eaten by goats/sheep/deer/moose..., and they can in turn be eaten by humans. In "modern" countries, animals do not need to be eaten because there are usually grocery stores all over where fruits/vegetables/nuts can be purchased. In other words, animals should only be eaten out of necessity. I also recommend looking into health benefits of a vegan diet.

I believe that what would have happened is that people were temporarily allowed to eat meat, but were supposed to stop once the waters evaporated.....problem is that by then they had such a taste for blood, that they decided to change the Bible.

Jesus did rip up some fish to feed 3,000 and 5,000 people on two separate occasions. And oh, he also put some fish onto a fire by the sea of Galilee. Do either of these occasions fit the question posed?:sarcastic

I've never seen anyone "rip up" fish ????......but maybe fishweed (seaweed) which was a staple in their day.
"Rip up" seems a very strange term to describe cutting up flesh.
The translation of so much in the bible has suffered over the ages.

Matthew 14:19: "He took the 5 loaves and 2 fishes and looking up to the heavens, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude."
It does not say he brake the fish and the bread, it says he brake, then they distributed the bread. Mark says that he divided fish among the people. This could be argued also that if the fish magically appeared, were they real fish in the first place? Were they ever living creatures?
I do not recall the fish into the fire episode, if you have a verse I would like to look into it.
