I was buying flowers in the floral dept. at work and got to talking with the floral employee. I usually get three bunches of carnations every week or so. I offhandedly said I’m Hindu and use them in my prayers. The employee said a customer comes in every other week or so for flowers for her temple, like I do. I asked if she knew what temple, the only one I know of in this area is the one I go to. She didn’t know the name but said it’s a new one, in someone’s house that is just being formed. She said she’ll get me the info next time the lady comes in for flowers. I think it’s great that another temple community is forming.
I remembered there is a new temple right down the road from my former job. I’m gone from the job 2 1/2 years but I saw the temple listed with a review of a nice community center. Maybe one day I’ll ride there too. I like the idea of a very local temple, even if it’s someone’s converted garage. Where I live now the temple is 45 minutes, twice what it was where I lived before.
I’ll be keeping an eye on how this develops.
