The AP is reporting that Russian missles have hit Poland, 2 dead

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
It makes me think how weird things are. If I take a car and drive too fast and accidentally kill someone, I get thrown in jail. However, if some military personnel during a war launches missiles and kills innocent people by accident, which is not part of the war, nothing will happen.
Most drivers don't employ a personal army to fight the authorities

Dialogue, and a willingness to compromise, is the only way to end any conflict. That’s pretty much a universal law of human relations.
The only compromise that Russia will accept is the gain of land. That cannot be right.
Human Relations go in the bin when you invade another country.

The only thing these Russkies understand is force? Yeah, right. That philosophy has served humanity so well in the past.

When our common humanity goes in the bin, what hope is there for any of us?

I didn't say that.

I just said that to come to a compromise it MUST involve meeting Russia half-way. That is, Russia keeps some of its gains - that means Ukraine loses.
If it does not gain land then Putin is a loser and will lose face.

Care to enlighten us as to what compromise looks like?

It is possible that it was a defensive Ukrainian missile (intercepting a Russian one), but the fact that they have to use such so close to the borders of other countries is rather worrying, and something for Russia to take into account. Apart from their bullying of another country, and one that cannot in effect retaliate against Russia itself.

You just described compromise quite simply and accurately; it's about meeting halfway. So in this instance Russia keeps Crimea, and possibly parts of the Donbass region. There are sound historical arguments in support of Russia's claim to Crimea anyway. But if one side is intent on punishing the other, and fighting on in the pursuit of total and unconditional victory, the fighting will never stop.

So, Russia are rewarded for their aggression?
Then in 10-years' time they do it again and gain some more land; meanwhile China has taken Taiwan.

When one side is an unambiguous aggressor and invader, "compromise" becomes a synonym for subordinate, forced concession. Putin would not be compromising by respecting the sovereignty of another nation; he would merely be acting in accordance with international law.

I think the Americans are giving accurate intel. This missile originated in Russia and Ukrainian defense systems innocently sent it to Poland OR the missile was aimed from Ukraine at Russian forces and it went of course due to Russian defense systems.
What the Putin Government is responsible for is a illegal invasion and shooting down passenger airliner bound from Shiphol Airport.Again the latter was an accident they thought it was a Ukrainian plane.
