Can someone please explain to me why a "drag show" is suddenly the epitome of evil?

What if a person dressed as a preacher, a nun, or the pope and came to read the kids the bible(it is a book)..would that be ok?

LGBT, drag, religion, or what ever.... Why do they want kids as their audience? Why focus on kids?

IMO its to get them while they are young to come over to their line of thinking, to indoctrinate the kids into their view is what its all about.

Lets get them while they are young so they grow to be allies.

What ever happened to let kids be kids? SMH
And this is a massive strawman argument. No one is mocking religion in the drag shows that I am aware of. I do not take extremists that go out of their way to reinterpret the Bible as people who's rights need to be respected. We can teach that the world is round even though there are religious Flat Earthers. The only thing that could be banned in schools is laughing at those Flat Earthers. In the same way if the Bible teaches something that cannot be justified ignoring that is perfectly alright. One just cannot laugh at those with those beliefs.

Can you form an argument without using a strawman?

 You missed the point of my post.

Try reading this again then post a reply that addresses it.

" LGBT, drag, religion, or what ever.... Why do they want kids as their audience? Why focus on kids?"

With that said, since many of your post IMO are only trying to gaslight others, I will again simply just start over looking them :D

You screwed up again. And why do you keep abusing the facepalm smiley? You know that applies your poorly thought out posts. You used a poor example. That means that you had no point.

Just as expected. Ignoring the post, false claims, its you not me, etc. the same ole BS.
But if those qualities make you feel proud every time you look in the mirror, more power to you

No, I got bored and provided the link for others. I was right. It was immediately after your post. As usual I am not the one that got it wrong here.

And since it is still copied, here you go again:

Darwin's Illusion

What I do not get is the false outrage when you were immediately corrected. Others weighed in and said essentially the same thing that I did and you still pretended that it was otherwise. And you had the gall to accuse me of gaslighting.

That's a different thread bub. You cant even stay on focus with the thread or topic.

There's a guy at my local steak house that cuts up the food right in front of the patrons. He's an entertainer too. Pole dancers claim to be entertainers too.

Teachers and those that work with children are held to high standards and must pass rigorous screening. It is a public trust. Drag queens can entertain elsewhere. Little children don't need their kind of "entertainment".

There is not a spontaneous ground swell of parents and children asking for drag entertainers to read them kiddie stories. This is a movement being imposed by outside interest groups. Stop trying to normalize it. It is deleterious.

Teachers have a very specific job, and part of that includes enriching kids through art. Perhaps they should stop taking kids to magic shows? Theater?

Yes, absolutely that would be ok, that would be wonderful.

Why would you have a problem with that? And more to the point, why do you assume I would have a problem with that?

Have you ever noticed that bigots tend to assume everyone else is also a bigot? And if they find out you don't hate some specific thing, they assume you must hate the opposite. If you don't hate blacks then you must hate whites, if you don't hate the LBGTQ you must hate religion or something like that.

Well, no. Believe it or not I don't hate religion. I don't hate preachers or nuns or even to pope. If they want to read to children, or otherwise entertain children, I say that is wonderful.

Kind of like how people think a mere 5 pointed star must be Satanic...or a reverse cross, which is most definitely not Satanic

Yes. I wonder why women were expected to wear dresses anyway. Could it be because it restricted their movements, so they couldn't participate in manly activities? So men could gawk at their legs? So their hoohah would be outlined and elicit lust? Who knows, but IMO, people should wear what they like. Anyway, that's for another thread.

Drag queens .
No kidding. What part?
Is it that people are in costumes? So people dressed against what their assigned sex/gender is, are considered "sexualized?" Is that it?
Like, if I go out for Halloween as Freddy Krueger, and I am a woman, is that considered "sexualization?"
How about if I, a woman, dress up as Einstein for Halloween. Is that considered "sexualization?"
Where's the sexual part?
One year a male friend of mine dressed up as a nun. Was that sexualization?

How about if a man wearing a kilt wants to read books to kids? Is that sexualization? I mean, it's kind of a skirt, so .... ?

Children are developmental incapable of dealing with sex. Those that want to do story telling with children should be motivated by the needs of the children, not their own. Children don't need to be confused by the addition of story tellers promoting their own agendas.
I'm still confused as to where you guys think the sex part is coming into the equation ... ?

To help spark an interest in reading in young people? Sounds terrible. Ick!

Because adults don't tend to be read to aloud in large groups, like kids are .... ?

Pantomimes have always had men dressed up as women. Since the year dot.

All Shakespeare plays originally had all the women played by men.

As was the case for Greek plays.

In the opera many women played Trouser roles and still do.

This has not been a problem for hundreds of years. Neither for adults or children.

In single sex schools, the children have always played both sexes in plays, dance and musicals.

No one is confused.

Why do Republicans suddenly pretend that role reversal is a problem now.?

There is a man who lives on my sister's street. He is outside quite often, as he is really into his Halloween, Christmas, etc. display so my sister's kids see him all the time. My sister says hello and interacts with him on an almost daily basis. He wears long, flowing skirts. Every day. Not once, in almost two years, have either of my sister's kids (now aged 12 and 13) inquired as to why he wears skirts. Not once have they gawked at him. Not once have they asked if he's a boy or a girl. Not once has the man in a skirt done or said anything even remotely sexual to anybody. Nothing. Not once have the kids used that man as the basis to question their sexuality or gender or anything. The kids just say hello and interact with him as if he's any other person in the world. That's kids for ya.

They don't focus on kids. Kids are AN audience for A PARTICULAR TYPE of show that CAN be performed by LGBT, drag or religious performers.

The reason for the current popularity of movements such as drag brunches or drag queens reading stories to children is quite simple: with the rise in popularity of the drag queen subculture and its embrace by a more mainstream audience, drag queens are being more openly embraced and recognised as performers. Drag shows for children is just an offshoot of this rise in awareness and popularity, but also comes with a distinct purpose of its own: to encourage understanding and awareness among children of the existence of LGBT and non-gender conforming people, and to thus make them more accepting and open-minded towards historically misunderstood, feared or disparaged communities.

Also, it's just kind of... fun?

I would have loved for a drag queen to come and read books to my classroom instead of the fuddy-duddy religious lady or boring old Mrs. Wingfield that we were stuck with.
