The GOP and "entitlements"

Good to know, thanks.

But I'd still say that from an ethical perspective, the word "entitlement", when used by politicians who want to cut it back, is a dishonest, propagandistic word.
Language is a weapon that politicians can wield quite effectively at times. Calling SS an entitlement and trying to use that as an excuse to cut back payments is probably not going to work. The elderly are some of the most loyal of voters. Meaning that they vote at a higher rate than other age groups do. Mess with the elderly and you are probably dooming your campaign.

Biden has spent almost his entire career trying to cut Social Security.

I listened to the video. I didn't hear what you claim here. A balanced budget is NOT the same as what you're saying.

That said, it bothers me to no end that the REAL sacred cow in DC seems to be the profitable, destructive, dangerous "defense" budget.

Well to be fair he proposed a "freeze". That does not mean to end SS payments. It means that the amount that goes into a program would not increase. If there is inflation and a freeze then that is the same as a cut. And if the population on SS goes up but they do not increase payments that does result in individual cuts.

And a balanced budget is not a good idea. There can be benefits to a deficit.
