I suppose it's good for determining the consensus of a group. But one saying that's always stuck with me is "The truth is not a democracy."

I've always liked;

You may be thinking through this waaaay more than the OP warrants, given which thread we are in...
But your comments are pretty interesting, so...thanks!
Oops. I missed it. I change the answer to be I should rule the Earth (and RF as a consequence). My word is law and if you forget it, you will pay for your disobedience and disloyalty.

The poll we've all known was coming.
And we should have expected it would forget to be complete. It does not ask whether anything like "rules" might be considered. Things like, you know, constitutions -- that say "not everything can be majority based." Usually around concepts like minority rights, and that sort of thing.

I thought about giving you options apart from yes or no, but this is really a fork in the road moment for the entire universe, so...gotta pick a path.
And if that is the case, the answer is an even more definitive "no." Majorities might, for example, decide that the family in "that" house down the street should all be killed -- and because they have a majority, might be considered right to actually do it.

There is, in my view, a strongly overriding mandate to protect minorities from the tyranny of (often over-emotional, heated) majorities. That is the function of the fundamental rules about how we govern ourselves (often codified in constitutions).

Majority decision may not be the best. Majority does not have foresight. That comes only with a wise leader. It is like marriage, a matter of chance, that we may have a wise leader. Trump had majority. Modi has majority. See the difference.

Nah, I'll leave such trivialities to non-jokes thread polls.
Here, we believe in yes and no answers to vague questions which can't possibly be answered with yes/no answers. Much more room for comedic posting.

That's a good answer. I'm really hoping 'No' wins, and not just because that was my choice.
The irony of having a poll pointing out that majority decision making isn't great, via the mechanism of majority decision making tickles my fancy.

It's almost criminal that there isn't a "WAIT!!!!!!!" option.
