If God commanded you to sacrifice your child, would you do it?

Christians, suppose Jesus Himself appeared to you and gave you this command. Would you do it?

Abraham is praised for being willing to do so.

Debate point: should you sacrifice your child if God commands it?

It is not a valid question for anyone who knows the true character of the Lord.
The Divine essence cannot allow it.
It is simply not in the realm of Divine Providence.

So my answer in the pool would be NO unless God provides irrefutable evidence that he is God and that sacrificing my child is the best thing to do

What if there is only irrefutable evidence that He is God? But He either doesn't give a reason or that you disagree with the reason?

There is a crucial point here: Is God the source of morality or simply a personification of it? In the first, whatever God decrees is automatically moral *by definition*. In the second, God recognizes what is moral, and agrees to it, but morality itself is not *from* God.

Given the absence of 'yes' votes, it seems that the second position is the most common.

Very simple question, and easy to answer for me

NO

Especially easy as a Christian.
It is not my child, it is God's Child

God does not need me, to kill His Child
IF God wants to kill His child, He gave to me
Well, let Him do so Himself, don't ask me to do His (killing) job

I follow His dictum..."do no harm"

@Xavier Graham , fyi, if one carefully reads the story of Abraham's supposed attempt to sacrifice Isaac, there are a few clues that Abraham never expected to lose his son. First God promised to make Abraham into a nation through Isaac. Second when Abraham approaches the mountain he tells the lads who are with him that both he and Isaac would return. So, Abraham must have thought either that God would change the instructions or that Isaac would immediately return from the dead after the sacrifice.

Never thought about it that way, and it's very straight-forward. Thanks for the info.

The human real answer.

I know as I'm conscious and I live in life as a mutual equal human first. By two of every one living species. I own dominion by my self human only humans appraisal.

I get brain prickled burnt by falling rock star mass. That doesn't own any law. It's an effect cause.

I ignore my own advice as we are all just humans says our own warning.

Previous mother father holy two babies lived in a garden paradise of earth. Sure was beautiful.

The con artist....how I became rich man then scientist to technology as a human threat. Help me build my Empire family or I'll murder you. His con he's used ever since.

Evil human behaviour choice. Human versus human.

He looks back in memory recorded about his type of baby man human life the God body mass had changed.

Is he correct?

No.

He is proven prophet predictor of his man's created theisms. Forbidden after his calculated sines of the roots of his calculus...fruit symbolisms. Hurt life on earth.

As his sines roots weren't the beginning of created form. He lied.

Therefore if a human man is told human baby children would die sacrificed by his prophetic science. Should science be practiced?

No.

Do men today own the same reasons? Know. But do it anyway as human life is meaning less when compared to a rich man wants?

Yes it's a real story about just humans. Hierarchy fake and self given who lie.

He was hurt. He decided as humans do to agree to hurt others. Just by memory looking back themes.

Behaviour human self destructive personalities. Forbidden behaviour themes. To predict when natural cooling evolving was not predicted.

If they cant kill an innocent child themselves instead of asking you to do it then why do you think they have the power to kill you? After all they are asking you to kill a child. This implies they cant do it themselves

After all pagan gods can be imperfect and arent all powerful. Perhaps said pagan god who'd ask is unable to kill certain beings?

They may not be able to do it themselves. Or maybe it's as a sign of dedication and obedience to ones chosen pantheon of Gods.

Because they are imperfect, I wouldn't put it past them to want a person to do imperfect things.

No, because God would not ask anyone to sacrifice their child today. Abraham was chosen for a special role as the father of the nation of Israel, through whom the Savior would come. Abraham was asked to demonstrate his willingness, but he did not actually have to sacrifice his son Isaac... since God provided the sacrifice. This was symbolic, a picture pointing to the ultimate sacrifice provided by God...Jesus Christ, Savior of the world.

Anyone who thinks God would ask them now to sacrifice their child is delusional, deceived by the devil, and ignorant concerning the scriptures and the meaning of the account about Abraham and Isaac.

So a lot of people are saying "God wouldn't do that.." that's good and all, but the hypothetical is asking what you would do if God would command that. I'm more interested in what you would do rather than what a God would do

IF God commands it and you believe God is all knowing and the creator and you say "no I will not" that means you don't believe in God or that God exists. So without Gods existence God is coming to you with a command. It is a contradiction.

This question is nonsensical.

I don't believe it is something God would command today. In Abraham's case, he was willing but God didn't let Abraham sacrifice his child. The example with Abraham and Issac seems to be a Old Testament picture of Christ's sacrifice.

Micah 6:6-8 says:

“With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

The real story Jesus. Out of con text afterwards. How men themed pyramid. I want. Comparing ideas first as theists do

The con a man in natural life. Put thesis out of natural order first then gets possessed out of order by it afterwards. As volcanoes are beginning moment heavens created in law.

Not sciences man's want.

Told and you knew you were wrong as a scientist. Theist man prophet predictor calculus as men of maths science. About earths mass man named as sciences god.

Holy One any or all of one thing living. Breathing. Holy life. Machine the dead.

Machine from dead mass of earth not living. Not owner history living water either. Burnt out microbes into carbon in water to cool mass. Dead earth the teaching tomb of entombed.

Machines an outright lie.

Man got machine body by using living oxygenated life water the teaching. To cool melt himself. He used our natural life support to own a dead evil machine to react back in Time to nuclear burning. Also using living water.

Review chosen acts of evil to lifes holy water.

The holy truth. Time isn't nuclear. It's holy cooled light counted as 12 in light...12 not in light as hours O God the earth travel body in wandering.

Earthquake tectonic carpenter plates. Created law first..... Volcanic mountain arose.

Dead arose as molten melt. That released gases. Satan. Water droplets vapour began cooling its release. Heavens began.

How heavens was created.

Is not the lying story you told after mind brain attacked prickled again.

You discussed a scientific only four day activated earthquake. Day went into void went dark. Then relighted by increased space you caused by mass plus cold gas removed two places.

You grateful all life hadn't died. Great big liar. Human men world community mind was using technology had agreed. The future human warning about science man's behaviours.

All men in one agreement scientist.

So man themes Jesus earthquake made my pyramid arise. Laws about earths natural history.

Themed.

Instead I want a pyramid so I must cap it myself cooled by large crystal capped in gold.

Underground I'll do the dust melt conversions myself like a volcano. Melt. I believe I'm correct.

It blew up. As you don't own earths metal cold seam pressures in science...space law the teaching.

Men in science are liars. Pretty basic same men destroyng life on earth as machines don't exist.

Man's updated star fall Reminder about the dead machine man arose out of the entombed earth to kill us all. In the future.

When his science brain mind heals consciously to remember how.

In science of man's god. Gods terms advised you certain practices he follows about God would kill his owned human baby life.

As baby man adult is Theist scientist. So he's talking to himself. His nations genetic baby. So said I'll not agree to this scientific practice. A confession.

In life man Theist versus man theist.

Unlike Herod told the same advice agreed to using new temple Roman technology.

Predictive science life attack was argued.

I disagree. If you say "I will not" that doesn't mean you don't believe in God. The apostle Peter told God "Not so, Lord" when initially refusing His command to eat unclean meat.

You maybe a Bible believer but I am not.

If someone says I will not do something to God when he commands you that means you don't believe God exists so that whole statement is an oxymoron. It does not make sense.
