Do any of you non-Hindus believe in any Hindu concepts?

Not sure about Pythagoras (though I know he was probably the first to suggest it), but Nietzsche--the Prussian philosopher who famously wrote "God is dead"--offered the suggestion that if time is eternal and the universe finite, then everything we know will repeat itself endlessly, along with all other possible logical outcomes. I don't remember what he wrote it in, but I remember it was presented in a negative way; for it means that all the suffering we endure will be relived over and over again. In fact, I believe that the narrator of the description was a demon...I think.

Yikes! Shpoooky! :cover: Anyway, we endure suffering to learn certain lessons. It is not eternal. God is good.

What I find interesting is the implications of this possibility. Would the same consciousness of an individual be repeated, or will it be a different consciousness (soul)?

No, the soul will be the same. :) However, when all karma is resolved and we break free of the cycle of birth and death, the individual soul merges with the super soul or God and then there is no distinction between the two. In reality there is only Atman or spirit but when aspects of that Divine consciousness exist within the physical body, it is called Jiva Atman or the individual soul. God is referred to as Param Atman or the super soul. They are both aspects of the same Atman or spirit - so in essence, they are one and the same. :)

Yes those. I use them to help promote those qualities in myself, like the mudra for enlightment, for harmony and so forth. This is where I've gotten most of the ones I use, I'm still learning about half of the ones shown.

That sounds very interesting. I wish you all success in your endeavours. Is there one to help with shyness? :D I just realized that the act of putting one's palms together when saying "Namaste" is also a Mudra. :p In yoga class we do mudras which are like exercises for different parts of the body eg. Yoga Mudra where we sit on the heels and lower the head to the floor. Our yoga teacher always says that a mudra is a seal and by sitting on the heels, we are sealing off energy to the upper part of the body. (if I was paying attention and remember it correctly  )
