I woke up with mild tinnitus and severe ear pain in the middle of the night a couple of days ago. Since I couldn't sleep again due to the incessant pain, I rushed to the doctor as soon as I could, which was thankfully around noon. I didn't have to wait too long.

He diagnosed me with a middle-ear infection and said it was partially related to nasal irritation and leftover issues from when I had COVID. I'm getting better, thankfully--I can't imagine life without antibiotics in situations like this.

Whether you're vaccinated or not, I hope you stay safe from all of these hassles. Living with some long-term effects of COVID has been thought-provoking because it has been a strong reminder of crucial things, like health, that we sometimes take for granted. It has also reinforced my belief that people--both vaccinated and unvaccinated--deserve empathy and well-wishes if they contract this virus, not gloating or mocking.

Take care.

Get well.

I know how hard the long term effects of this virus can be.

Interestingly, I had a really bad earache the other night too, and it kept me up. I did not seek medical attention though. Maybe I should have.

I got it about a month ago. At the time it wasn't too bad, two days with a cough, a fever, and body aches.

But the cough and fatigue and brain fog have persisted. It's getting old to be sure.

Hope you get through these Covid after effects and feel completely well soon. Since I had the virus with a couple lingering health issues last year, I can empathize with you. Thankfully, I was able to find some very beneficial supplements and get back to normal health. I hope you are better soon.

Hopefully you will be back normal health soon. I had Covid last Fall. It took me at least a month to feel really well again. Even then there were a couple issues which took longer to resolve.

This is a reminder for us. With 2 boosters, masks etc we've managed to avoid COVID so far though IRL friends have gotten it. We'll be getting the new Omicron booster once it's approved and continue precautions.

I suppose I will be getting that, but it won't be available here for at least 2 months. Probably it won't be for more than that.

Bad that it's hit you like this, good that you are on the mend.

Keep taking the meds... And get well soon.

Regarding nasal infection. I have had 2 ops on my nasal passages and am prone to infection. I find a salt water wash helps tremendously to keep infection at bay and clear my nose for easier breathing. Is sterimar or similar available to you? I cannot recommend it enough.

Yes, I'm currently using a saline nasal spray and a nasal steroid. They have helped a bit with the nasal allergy so far.

After my first op i was advised to make my own. A teaspoon of salt in a tumbler of warm water, mix until dissolved the snort it though the nose and into the throat before spitting it out.

It sounds horrendous and certainly not very lady like  but it sure worked.

I still do it if i feel discomfort starting.

I use a neti pot. No snorting is involved.
