Sounds exactly like what the FBI has been doing.

Except the FBI didn’t even tell anyone. You can’t “provoke a state of terror in the general public” if the general public doesn’t know it happened. The public only found out about this because Trump announced it.

You are missing the point. The FBI didn’t make it public, there is no evidence or reason to think they planned to make it public. Going public does not help the FBI.

What does his even mean?
It means law enforcement will generally do quick searches of people's publically available social media (eg. Facebook) to establish identity and patterns of behaviour.
The protesters...unlike false flag operatives...weren't trying to hide their identities, or use the anonymity of a crowd to escalate violence, etc.
Nor do I think you actually believe they were false flag protesters. But for whatever reason people like to fire off tit for tat posts these days instead of addressing issues.
