Exactly. Are those the only two options then? That seems like a false dichotomy.
Concerning abortion rights: The majority of Americans support abortion rights
About six-in-ten Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases
Do they represent the extreme left?
It is a fact that SCOTUS does not represent the majority of Americans who are not extreme left.
It is not the extreme left that is the issue. If you believe this is the case please cite references. Your statement above classifies the majority of Americans as' Extreme Left'
It is the extreme right that made their position clear on January 6. Trump and guns, and ah . . . Alex Jones, and the majority of SCOTUS. By the wife of Justice Thomas openly supported Trump's claim the election was fraudulent...
By the polls, for years the recent SCOTUS decisions are way out of step with the majority of Americans.
POlls on gun laws: Guns
Ah, you have no reasoning to provide, and you need an escape. Surprise, surprise.
No assumptions needed. Just identifying your actions.Assumptions, assumptions. No surprise.
Please cite the text of the Constitution that you say they are "in step" with. Be specific. They should be in step with the constitution not most Americans. They don't answer to a majority, that is by design. They answer to the congress and president. During their appointment, after which they only answer according to the Constitution.
Which was a free choice you made.Of course it removed rights. You could not even go certain places without proof of vaccination.
There were laws that removed certain rights for the unvaccinated. Travel, assess to certain venues, and removal from some jobs.
No it isn't, that's risible.Of course it is. It's my right as an American to have access to all parts of America.
So abortion should be illegal in some cases, according to most Americans.
They should be in step with the constitution not most Americans.
They don't answer to a majority, that is by design. The answer to the congress and president. During their appointment, after which they only answer according to the Constitution.
Ok, well thanks for your opinion. This by the way is a Democracy and NOT a Constitutional Autocracy ruled by a Right-Wing minority, but that is the unfortunate reality at present. I called you out that the majority of the views of Americans is NOT an extreme left-wing view, and you cannot respond to that, except to assert the rule of a Right-Wing minority, established by a hedonist, corrupt, mentally unbalanced wealth greedy president that supported and advocated the January 6 revolt revealed in the current Congressional hearings.
It is unfortunate that their view is increasingly an extreme Right-Wing religious view of the Constitution, and NIOT the historical history of the Constitutional president.
Sorry, you missed the point in that there is an absence of authority to rule on this. Please cite the text of the Constitution that you say they are "in step" with. Be specific.
I have no expectations that you have the least idea.
IN the military it is understood that one should never give an order that one knows will not be obeyed. Now that SCROTUS is on your side what do you think will happen? Do you think that there are no provisions for underground railroads for abortions and the support of those in need? Do you think there will be compliance? Do you think there are enough police to enforce your will? When no one obeys, what will you do?
So, should we overturn civil rights and women's suffrage and abolition as well? Put them back in the hands of the people... As you so speciously phrase it? How about child labor laws?
