Will England win World Cup 2022 ?

Italy didn't qualify for World Cup 2018 or World Cup 2022 but they beat England in the Euro 2020 final.

Is there some divine reason England can't replicate the success of 1966 ?

Drew against Belgium
Drew against Germany
Drew against Italty
Lost 0-1 to Hungary 1st leg
Lost 0-4 to Hungary 2nd leg

Yeah, we aren't going to win it
The defeat to Hungary was surprising but Southgate was experimenting in approach and personnel. I fully expect England will be among the favourites for the WC. I just hope to God it doesn't happen.

Why shouldn't England win? They've been long overdue a trophy. Since 1966:

Spain won 2 Euros and 1 World Cup
France won 2 Euros and 2 World Cups
Italy won 2 Euros and 2 World Cups
Germany won 3 Euros and 3 World Cups

These teams have won trophies multiple times

Because I'm Scottish. Supporting whoever England play is like a religious principle for me.

Easy answer is the manager,a small pool of players and the premier league is arguably the best in the world but most of the players in the best teams are not English, they are bought, football is just a game of money now.

EPL is the most competitive league but not the best. In my opinion the best is La Liga as Real Madrid has 14 Champion's League trophies and Barcelona has 5

Money wins trophies, they buy the best players and pay the best wages, football isn’t a level playing field anymore.

I genuinely think Real would struggle to make the top four in EPL. Their achievements in European cometition are very impressive but I would say are more down to spirit and luck* than quality in recent years.

* and doping - Football Leaks: Doping Tests and Real Madrid

Even Series A has better teams: AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus. La Liga is duopoly while Series A is triopoly.

The only advantage EPL has is that there are 6 teams that can win a trophy : Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Leicester.

If England wins this World Cup, we may not stop hearing about it until the 2082 World Cup. So I hope it doesn't happen. :D

I can't see England winning this. Even if we beat Senegal, we have:

Quarter Final: France
Semi Final: Portugal
Final: Brazil

(most likely)

France 3:1 Poland
Brazil 4:1 South Korea

I wonder who wins between Spain and Portugal, or Argentina and Holland
