Does hypnosis have any scientific foundation?

I am asking because I have always wondered how scientific hypnosis is.
I have heard so many stories about people capable of hypnotizing other people through certain tricks, or simply through their own eyes.

Honestly I have always been quite skeptical about such stories.
I would like some feedback.
Thank you in advance.

It's a trance like state. Makes you more suggestible. But you can't like control people against their will like you see in movies

That's interesting.
Well...in that case, it is less unbelievable.
But I guess it depends on the hypnotized person, right?

I think it works if I am open to it, but only if that person reached a certain level of Spirituality (more pure, more accurate)

Words do have major impact (ask God about the power of word:D ). And words are used with hypnoses also. Thoughts have impact too. Some animals feel what you think (sixth sense). If animals have this, humans can have or develop it too

There is so much more possible in this huge Universe. Compared to Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipotence, hypnosis seems relatively easy

As with all Spiritual and Scientific things, it's best to find out by practicing yourself or meet someone who claims he can hypnotice. Very easy to get your proof

I think I will be hard to hypnotice me. Would be fun to check this out. Self hypnosis seems to be possible too. Not tried those ones yet

It's a scam to make money and parlor tricks.

It's just psychological suggestion. Same as the pentecostal malarkey when the bodies hit the floor.

I think it has been found that some are just not susceptible to hypnotism (myself being one), but that it does work, and perhaps to varying degrees depending upon the individual.

I am careful to open up to others. But hypnosis does intrigue me...I might try it, if I get the chance

I met a woman who was open to believe in such things. Once she met an evil person who put a spell on her. She gradually got very sick afterwards and died. Could be coincidental, but maybe she was scheduled to die anyway

Same time, I met a man who put a voodoo spell on me. I decided to believe in Sai Baba, and not this man. I did not die, but maybe if I had believed in him, I would not have died either

Difficult to know for sure, if these things work. Best to visit a hypnotist and check him out yourself.

I might tell him in advance "If you are for real then I will (be happy to) pay". I always wanted to check one out, but sofar I never met one. I did meet clairvoyants, and some got it right a bit, but none could answer my health question clearly

That's probable. I remain mostly skeptical, by the way.
