overcome

Would any of you agree, that a house divided against itself will fall?Out of all the emotions of men there is only one that can overcome.
Hate against hate?
Anger against anger?
Sorrow against sorrow?
Envy against envy?
What about love against love?
Love against hate?
Love against anger?
Love against sorrow?
And so on.
Which one of these will overcome? :sarcastic

God is not a god of disorder.

Everything out does love in the short term, in the heat of the moment. Love wins in the long run.

No, Death overcomes love.

Anger has not been overcomed yet, as it still encites wars amongst today's people. Hate is in the same boat as Anger..

Id say greed caused more wars than anger. And yes death does conquer love but I don't define this as an emotion.

Love leads to both anger and hatred. Yet love can also reverse this.

So it is almost a trick question there fluff? Almost any emotion can outdo another. Fear can overcome many, but many can overcome fear. Depression can overcome all, but all can overcome depression (in a sense). it is a cycling loop answer

lol yeah basically. Its more to do with the strength of the emotion than what emotion it is. I just like to think that love is, perhaps, generally, stronger than the rest :).

We would all like to THINK that fluffster.

When you say "House", kass, do you mean a normal dwelling one? My father's anger seems to out rule almost any meotion.

I agree that a house devided against itself will fall; there is no doubt of that if you look around the world conflicts at the moment. I am naive enough to retain my belief in the fact that 'Love conquers all'. I have always used that basic phylosophy, and no matter how often I have been disappointed, I will continue to do so, because that is my credo

Like I said in my natural opposites, unnatural opposites thread. In nature, if you put something dry, with something wet, they both will become wet. Wet is the dominant opposite. But emotions and subjective things such as good and evil are not like that. There is no dominant emotion.

This statement " A house divided against itself will fall" sums up the whole of what the wisdom of God is trying to tell us. The "House" is your own home,your community,
your country and then the whole world.
This is what I mean when I say "Love"
1 corinthians 13:4
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself,
is not puffed up;
Does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.

For the record..... this is not true for a Christian.;)

John 8:51 (New American Standard Bible) 51"Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death."
