The Kindness Box

If I said that the world is currently suffering and it needs your help, would you agree with me? The growing gap between the rich and the poor, the climate crisis, conflicts all over the world: these are just a couple of examples of a world that needs our help.

While this list can go on and on, I’m going to focus on the positives today. Mainly, how can you help make the world a better place? What can you do to help the world, as an individual? Even though your own actions can sometimes feel insignificant when looking at the grander scheme, you still have the power to change the world for the better.

This article discusses 11 things you can do to make the world a better place. Interestingly enough, most of these things are proven to make your life more interesting and happier in the process. So let’s get to it!

Try - kindness makes the world a better place - plus suggested searches!

For example

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

~ Desmond Tutu.

Remember a time when someone was kind to you?

Now, think of when you did something good for someone else and how happy it made both of you—that warm feeling of satisfaction that lodged in your heart and refused to go away.

You made someone happy and lifted their spirit.

Guess what?

That should be every day.

There’s a saying, ‘Love makes the world go around.’

Kindness does the same thing. And yes, we can use these words interchangeably. Why’s that?

An act of kindness is one of love.

Doing good comes from a place of love, and he who has received kindness knows what it means to be loved. But it should not stop there.

You should share that love- There’s enough to go around.

An Aussie site!

Imagine if the whole world was a kinder place. What a difference that would make. Practising the art of kindness and giving isn’t just about digging deep for charity: it’s showing compassion and thoughtfulness towards others; a spur-of-the-moment act of generosity or a valued commitment to volunteer for a cause you believe in.

Being kind to others not only makes you feel good — sometimes a simple act of kindness can have a ripple effect; your good deed flows into the receiver’s stream of consciousness and they, too, can look for opportunities to pass it on.

At its very core, kindness is about empathy, being aware of your environment and seeking ways to selflessly enrich the lives of others. And giving to others benefits the giver as well as the receiver; it nourishes the spirit as it shifts our inner focus from ourselves to others. Researchers call this sense of inner warmth and satisfaction that results from doing good deeds for another a “helper’s high”. This euphoric state produces physiological sensations that reduce stress levels, and regulates the heart rate, lowering blood pressure.

Studies have found that laughter is contagious and that the act of smiling can help make you feel happier. Our tendency to mimic the facial expressions and body language of those around us can have a powerful effect on our moods.

But spreading happiness is not only a great way to make the world a better place, it’s also surprisingly effective at making ourselves happier. By trying to lift the mood of others, we will indirectly lift our own happiness as well.

It’s easy to get so caught up teaching your child how to write their letters and how to cut their food with a knife that you can forget to teach your child to be kind. And some parents may worry teaching kindness could actually cause a child to potentially lose their edge in today’s competitive world.

But teaching kindness is valuable. Research says teaching kindness has a positive influence on a range of academic, health,1 and social outcomes for kids.

When kindness is taught in school, children experience increased self-esteem, increased motivation to learn, improved attendance, and decreased bullying and violence.

Make the world a better place ... first one to arouse my curiosity -

Want to make the world a better place? Being kind is the first step. We think everyday should be World Kindness Day but November 13th is the official date. World Kindness Day was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. It is observed in many countries, including Canada, Japan, Australia, Nigeria and United Arab Emirates. Kindness is a virtue of paramount importance, yet not everyone goes out of their way to help someone else, or even take the small effort of smiling at a stranger. But there is no denying that there is an absolute necessity to be nice to others, even if it requires an effort.

The purpose of World Kindness Day is to look beyond ourselves, beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion; and realize we are citizens of the world. As world citizens we have a commonality, and must realize that if progress is to be made in human relations and endeavors, if we are to achieve the goal of peaceful coexistence, we must focus on what we have in common. When we find likenesses we begin to experience empathy, and in such a state we can fully relate to that person or those people. While we may think of people from other cultures as being ‘different’ when we compare them with our own customs and beliefs, it doesn’t mean that we are any better than they are. When we become friends with someone from a different culture we discover that despite some obvious differences, there are many similarities.

I believe that you don’t or aren’t able to find the world a better place to live. With the Coronavirus spread from last year, it feels a bit true.

However, if you look at the 2021 Year in Search, from Google, you’ll find it a little different. You’d find a hope that the world isn’t so bad after all. And while watching the video, you’ll probably get a smile on your face.

But still, those joyful moments can’t deny the other factors as well. That, some area of the world needs betterment.

So, how we can make that happen? How you alone can change the world? Believe it or not, but you can change the world, and there are many ways to accomplish it.

Therefore, in this article, I’ve listed them out to help you easily take part in making the world a better place.

But before we go on to those points, isn’t it a good idea to see and learn why we need a better world?
