I'm fine with that position. :)
I'm not expert enuf to vet any of the plethora of studies
about Covid 19, vaccination, & morbidity. So I look to
the opinions of epidemiologists, who are qualified, & will
consider the great many studies that arise. Their conclusions
are based upon weighing all info, some of which can be
erroneous &/or contradictory.
As an ignorant gearhead with a mere double digit IQ, I'll
read news of such studies, but ultimately, I check to see
what Johns Hopkins & Mayo Clinic have to say. They've
been pretty consistent, but also quick to update their info
as more is learned about SARS-CoV-2.

Here's one gal who should've taken my advice....

"Natural immunity" dissipates over time, and research is showing that some people have 0 antibodies left after as little as 9 months.

Also, there are no boosters for "natural immunity", thus a person who is older and/or immunity compromised may well put themselves in far greater risk without having a booster. Plus, covid keeps mutating, thus new vaccines are quite likely if covid continues to act like it's going to be endemic.

A couple from my church has been in the hospital since Christmas and are not in good shape at all, and the wife is a nurse. However, they are very "political", if you know what I mean, so my guess is they've not been vaxed.

From the CDC:
Vaccination protected against COVID-19 and related hospitalization, and surviving a previous infection protected against a reinfection and related hospitalization during periods of predominantly Alpha and Delta variant transmission, before the emergence of Omicron; evidence suggests decreased protection from both vaccine- and infection-induced immunity against Omicron infections, although additional protection with widespread receipt of booster COVID-19 vaccine doses is expected. Initial infection among unvaccinated persons increases risk for serious illness, hospitalization, long-term sequelae, and death; by November 30, 2021, approximately 130,781 residents of California and New York had died from COVID-19. Thus, vaccination remains the safest and primary strategy to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infections, associated complications, and onward transmission. Primary COVID-19 vaccination, additional doses, and booster doses are recommended by CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to ensure that all eligible persons are up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which provides the most robust protection against initial infection, severe illness, hospitalization, long-term sequelae, and death.***** Additional recommendations for vaccine doses might be warranted in the future as the virus and immunity levels change. -- COVID-19 Cases and Hospitalizations by COVID-19 Vaccination Status and Previous COVID-19 Diagnosis — California and New York, May–November 2021 | MMWR (cdc.gov)

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Additionally, from today:

During an interview on Fox News with Bret Baier, Senate Minority Leader McConnell admitted that there are 395 Democratic bills sitting in the Senate that are not going to be passed: "It is true... They're right. We're not going to pass those."

The GOP want the American public to see Biden as ineffective, as unable to deliver on his promises, and they will continue to manufacture the reasons for the discontent they will then milk all the way to the 22 and 24 elections. It's political strategy, yes, but at the expense of the American people.
It's really because the Democrats can't keep their grubby hands from slipping earmarks and riders into that worthless pile of bills that don't pass.

It'd like they have some persistent mental illness that they just cannot produce anything vanilla without having the need to stick in their little pet projects whenever they can

anna.

but mostly it's the same

"Anything vanilla?" Seems an odd way to describe politics.

Anyway. 395 bills is a lot of bills to obstruct.

I really wish it was vanilla. A bill should be exactly what it states.

No additions, no extra special favors, and special interest tacked on as a condition or incentive.

Make other bills for that kind of crap.

that is another good point...

I would assume that there are more independents... on the other side of the point, independents
Independents have turned on Joe Biden - CNNPolitics
Yeah. Biden is garbage. What has really happened is that the Democrats aren't keeping up with the rise of further left leaning people. More and more are leaving to become "independent" voters because they were left enough for them. But to be fair the Democrats are a sham. So are Republicans are a clown house but they kept their people in line.
