Gods are a Dime a Dozen

People/pets/plants are all a dime a dozen, too, but we all have some that we bond with, and some that we don't.

Mine are special to me. It isn't important to me that they be special to anyone else.

I hug my cactus and porcupine (love hurts). Lassie ran for help when Timmy fell down a well because Timmy told him to. I fell into a vat of balloons, and was about to instruct my porcupine to rescue me, when he dived in. Soon, the whole balloon pit was evacuated (I was saved).

Our savior is similar. He rescues us, on his own terms, and sometimes he's awfully hard to hug.

It's cool to hang with omniscient and omnipotent beings. I wonder why they like us so much?
My gods are not omnipotent or omniscient. And most don't concern themselves with humans. If you want to know my gods tho...just walk outside. Nature itself is my gods.

Edit: accidently put are instead of are not

Every god is special, that’s why they are gods.

As for why my gods are so special to me, compared to the rest? There are many reasons. My gods embody the sides of human nature I resonate the most with. They most embody the inclinations within me pushing me towards my greatest dreams and ambitions. They are an infinite source of inspiration and motivation...

- Divine Order over Primordial Chaos. Ultimate Creation. Ultimate Destruction.

- War. Love. Wisdom. Willpower. Discipline. Equanimity. Passion. Courage. Strategy. Balance. Fitness. Athletic Prowess. Victory in Battle. Perseverance.

- Adventure. Euphoria. Pleasure. Excitement. Personal Freedom. Confidence. Shamelessness. Vengeance. Wrath.

- Righteousness. Unconditional Love. Honor. Respect. Virtue. Kindness. Purity. Justice. Compassion. Righteous war. Commitment. Forgiveness. Redemption. Salvation.

- Enlightenment. Ambition. Knowledge. Power. Freedom. Conquest. Illumination. Determination. Ego.

- Genuine Malevolence.

- Primordial Chaos. The Universe. Storms. The Ocean. The Imagination. The Subconscious.

I wonder why no one worships a dumb God? The dumb are luckier. That's because a dumb person would walk in front of a car and get killed (so one less dumb person around). So, a dumb person would have to be really lucky to survive. A lucky God seems handy to have around.

Balancing light and darkness....sort of a gray.
Of course balance doesnt always mean equal parts light and dark. For some it means more light than dark or vise versa.
I'm mostly more dark then light at times.
And other times im the reverse. More light then dark.

I haven't got anything to be saved from, so no cactus hugging for me. :)

How can you be so sure?

I don't know...some gods act pretty stupid in myths. Not saying they are just saying they act like it in the stories...i don't believe in myths of any of the gods but they do show what the deity is like.

Exodus 20
King James Version

20 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Deuteronomy 5:7
King James Version

7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

That does not mean there are 'other gods.' God said that, speaking through Moses, because people were worshiping false Gods and there is only one true God, the God revealed by Moses.

Please note the Big G and the little g.... God vs. gods. There is only one true God.

I will not call God an it but you can call God anything you want to.
Doesn't God respond in whatever form/name the devotee prays to?

"Whatever celestial form a devotee seeks to worship with faith, I steady the faith of such a devotee in that form.
Endowed with faith, the devotee worships a particular celestial god and obtains the objects of desire. But in reality, I alone arrange these benefits."

Bhagavad Gita. 7:21-22

God does not have a gender. Some believers refer to God as He out of respect since God is not an it.
The one true God is special because He is the ONLY God that exists. If I was the only human that existed wouldn't that make me special?
That is not correct. See Tony's post #405, in the topic "Do you trust God". Tony is quoting from Bahaollah and Bahaollah said:

"Know thou of a certainty that the Unseen can in no wise incarnate His Essence and reveal it unto men. He is, and hath ever been .."
Therefore, according to your latest manifestation, the 19th Century Iranian, God is a He.
You do not even know what your own religion says.

THAT it IS!~ I wonder now if God wasn't actually the FIRST "trans" person, thngy, God, out there. Actually, the way the KJV can be translated is such that God COULD in fact actually be a HERMAPHRODITE. How's THAT grab ya?
If God is omnipotent, God is intersex:

- can God produce sperm? If God can do anything, then yes.
- can God ovulate? If God can do anything, then yes.
- can God impregnate another god? If God can do anything, then yes.
- can God get pregnant and carry an offspring to term? If God can do anything, then yes.

etc., etc., for any marker of sex you think is relevant.

Gender is a different matter; I'm not sure how God would identify. But God would be intersex.
