Why?

Why would anyone pray to Mary instead of Jesus Christ? Did he not say to come boldy to him? Did he not say he who does the will of his Father is his brother, sister...FAMILY??

Why would you call any man "Father" but your heavenly Father (he means in a spiritual way, in which many Catholics do err).

Why would so many popes confess that the Church is a great money making machine? Believe me I have several quotes from past Popes that are very very revealing.

Why would anyone pray to a statue? Why would anyone say rambling prayers as the heathen?

Why would anyone be Catholic?

Because I think Catholics are probably tired of saying this by now:
Catholics do not pray TO Mary or statues.

Grey...perhaps therer is something we must first do to understand the 'WHY'S' in life...try to understand who we are questioning, look at it from their viewpoint then sumise for ourselves. Judge not lest yea be judged.

Along with Lintu, do some more research into the Catholic church before you start condemning them. You'll find that they gave you everything you know about your jesus. Be thankful, not hateful.

I am not being hateful. Was Christ being hateful when he told the Pharasee's their father was the devil? What I have been given was given to me from my Father. God is the only one who can give ears to hear.

I know much about Catholic religion. My wife is Catholic, her whole family is as well.

I know what Catholics believe. I know about the endless chanting as well as people who pay the church to allow them to do things and still be "OK" with God. I know much more then you know.

I also know that my wife prays to Mary. I also know that you respect Mary more then another and God says that he is not a respecter of human beings. I respect Mary, because she is JEsus Christs mother, but I will not pray to her. Mary would tell you the same. There is one saviour..he is Jesus Christ.

The scriptures say to not do vain babblings like the heathen. Is this not the repetitious prayers I see in Catholic Churches? God says to hold no day but Pass Over. Christ-mass day is a day that was derived by the Church...not by Jesus.

I say this not to condemn...but to open your eyes. Open your eyes to the Truth. You are no longer under the laws...but under Grace. Jesus Christ came to Save the World.

If Catholic religion is correct and "The Way", why have so many died under it. Why do your own past Popes confess that it was all a big money making scheme.

Grey...It comes off more like the old phrase"Your mother wears army boots" Perhaps you should find a gentlier way to come across than sounding as if you are judge and jury over the catholic faith...I'm not catholic but have MANY friends who are...I ask them directly these kinds of questions. You make the quotes that are read in unisom sound just awful when it is not that way...you said your wife and her family are catholic...have you asked them these 'whys'' ?

This is not to debate, this is for education.

I just want you to know that catholics (whether or not your wife and her family believe it) should not pray TO mary. They ask her to pray for them. Do you ever ask someone to pray for you? I'm sure you do, that is what catholics are doing with mary and the saints. They are not praying TO them, they are asking them for their prayers. Also meditation is found in MANY religions, that is what the chanting is. Not heathenistic activity. Do some more research and open your eyes my friend. And I am not catholic, I am taoist.

I see no one wants to argue with the past popes quotes i have sitting in front of me. This is not me but your past popes of the Catholic Religion. Do not be mad at me.

Humans are imperfect, that means the popes, the saints, and you. Who should I trust more? The popes and saints, or you? Not a very hard decision is it. Therefore, I don't care about what the popes said, it doesn't matter. Again, do you ever ask anyone to pray for you?

Could you stop please, you are making me upset. Stop calling the Catholic religion a lie.
