It wasn't too long ago that I was looking with envy at vaccination rates in the US.
You guys had a lot more pain through the initial presentation of Covid, and perhaps that motivated vaccination take-up.
But we've now sped past you guys, and it's really only our very low case states (like Western Australia) that are holding our rates as low as they are.
Then I see some of the US reporting about Australian policy, and over-representation of some minority groups, and I really have to wonder.
Are there people against policies here? Yep.
Are there vaccine hesitant people here? Yep.
Are there anti-vaxxers here? Yep.
But the overwhelming majority are on board and 'compliant'. Our Vax rates in Victoria continue to climb quickly, and we will be at 80% double vaccinated by this weekend, with single vaccinated rates well over 90%.
So...my question...what has the reporting about Australia been like where you live, or on the News services you frequent?
Just looking for the brief version.
(And yeah, I get that for some the answer will be 'never gets mentioned'...I'm more interested in how we might be used on either side of the political divide as propoganda, really...)
