Kent Hovind's ex speaks out!

Terrywoodenpic

Oldest Heretic
He has already been found guilty; that's just his ex coming out to talk about her experience of domestic violence which raised the question as to how to prevent Hovind from retaining a wealth of followers who would feed this narcissistic, dangerous ******* and get robbed and frauded by him. That's the "then what".

You mean he is a sort of small time wannabe Trump clone.?

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Not only is Ken Hovind a woman beater, he has not paid his fair share of taxes, he is a convicted tax evader,. He has failed to consistently follow the teachings of Jesus who preached in Mark 12:17, "Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's in reference to a person's obligation to pay his taxes. I can't help but notice many evangelical Christian ministers fail to consistently follow Christ's teachings, their failure to practice what Jesus taught to his disciples demonstrates to me they don't really believe in Christ's messages, but they would rather have wealth and power instead of follow the teachings of Christ such as being a responsible taxpayer or treating people with dignity and respect.
Hovind is arguably a bonofide sociopath. The saddest thing is when a family lost their 7 year child that slipoed off a rock drowned in Hovinds unsupervised pond at ADL.

All Hovind could talk about, post death of the child, is his precious "Theme park" and assuring the grieving family would come back for another stay as the dad loves the place and would come back with the kids again. ...

He was that way before Trump was President. So not a wanna be, but there are quite a few similarities. He started with nothing, unlike Trump, and made his millions by a nice line of patter using science denial. He then lost a good portion of it because he tried to cheat the IRS. And then foolishly kept fighting them in court. The IRS will usually let people off with a fine if they pay up. If the resist a bit there will be some prison time. If they resist a lot there will be a lot of prison time. Hovind served 9 years in federal prison. Now it sounds as if he is hiding his assets again and beginning to use force. His first wife got a year in prison too. She stuck up for him too long. It appears wives two and three are not quite willing to go that route. And he is already on "wife" four. He only gets what he calls "biblical marriages" these days. For some reason he seems to think that is an escape clause for what Jesus called adultery.

Yeah, he is an example of a human. So what? I mean if you want to make a scientific theory of it, have a go. But as it stands, he is is a human like the rest of us.
If Kent's what you like, go for it!

Me, I tend not to pity the predator.

No, I don't like him. But that is not science. It is not even a part of reality and it is not real.
And no one is using science to judge Kent Hovind. That is only used to show how ridiculously wrong he is when it comes to his anti-evolution claims.

Please note that I stated at the start of this thread that this is not actually a creationism vs. evolution debate. It merely fits this category because that is Kent's thing.

Okay, and you could have chosen otherwise. I very much doubt that it matters in the grand scheme of things what Kent hovind is or not.

Of course it might help on the margins.

Yeah, but that is neither here nor there as for science or religion as such.
If you mean that anything Kent says has very very little intellectual content, then we agree.

Where we disagree is how relevant Kent is to religion as a whole. The tepid response of the large denominations to the fundamentalists has been remarked for decades. Let alone the corrupt ones like Kent.

If you listen to the video, no need to watch it, Cindi makes this point. She has received no support from any Christian groups. At least locally. They appear to be as afraid of Hovind as the few reasonable Republicans left tend to be afraid of Trump. She has received far more support from atheist groups.

He is a creationist.

He has a show and a following,

He is a convicted tax cheat and has served a seven-year sentence. If I recall aright, he's facing more charges of that kind.

He is well-known for these things.

He is not very smart, but he's very manipulative.

He's a convicted wife-beater.

Over all, there are some people you wouldn't cross the road to spit on, but he may be an exception.

So he has things in common with other televangelist types.

He's not a predator, more like a lemming.

Single track mind.
I haven't listened to the whole video, but up near the start we're told he's also a financial predator, taking money from the gullible whether they can afford it or not
His criminal record regarding tax suggests he has a sense of entitlement to any money that crosses his path.

(That's before we get to his physical brutality.)

I'd agree with an argument that said he had non-trivial mental problems, but I doubt he would.

I dare say.

But not all of them have served years in jail for fraud, not all of them are known to beat their partners, not all of them have been found by a court to have lied on oath. There's a lot there not to like.

Well, of course the USA is the center of the universe and of course this debate is the most important of everything. Of course you have evidence for that.

No, mikkel, no need to be prickly ─ we all know you're the center of the universe, and that we only exist because you imagine us.
